Would a 125 be to much weight on the second floor?

Should be fine. If this is an apartment get liability insurance in case you soak your neighbor one day.

In general, against a wall, with the floor joists running perpendicular to the wall (not parallel), is no problem with a tank that size (or larger, for that matter).
 
Yeah, it all depends on the floor joints and the footprint of the tank. As Dnjan said, Against an external wall is best with as many joists running underneith as possible (joists runing perpendicular).

If you are renting, you better check with the management. period.

Atleast go over your lease and make sure there is no stipulations in there for fish tanks...most will have them. (ex was apt manager).

if you do something outside the agreement on your lease, and that tank floods ...you are liable...

You dont want that.
