Would like an ID on these

These are small. Look like maybe 1/4-3/8 at biggest from the looks of it. They are hard and brittle. Nothing like worms or anything coming out of them.
Anyone know what they are?

I thought about sponge too, but these are hard and brittle, not soft like sponge.
As far as foraminifera, its possible. There are many different shapes and sizes of that, but nothing I've seen quite like these.

Actually there are many sponges that are hard and brittle. I'm willing to bet money that those are sponges.

I agree, there a form of benthic filtering sponges.

I had them in my 75gal and they were identified as beneficial sponges.

Do they come in different colors? I have something similar in my tank that is a real pretty red.

So far I have only seen them in white whyich was on this thread and in my 75gal. Might come in other colors though...
