Yikes.... WTH is this anyone?

I'm starting a FOWLR tank and I noticed this wierd looking thing in the corner of my tank. Does anyone know what the heck this thing is? It looks like a bunch of strings or legs of a creature. I don't know if it's my flow that is making it move or what, but I don't want it to affect my tank. Should I just throw it out or maybe see what it grow out to become? Maybe it's just nothing but some sort of algee growing? Who know, but anyone have some answers maybe... thanks!

Ahhhh... cool! So do they get bigger? Are there any benefits having them in my tank or should I just toss it out :badgrin:

They are beneficial. I don't know if they get bigger cause it's hard to tell how big yours is by the pic, but I've got at least a dozen in my tank and a couple of the mounds they make are the size of a quarter around and around a half an inch high.
