    Need to re home...

I'm in the Fife / Tacoma area with a 360g tank / 600g system if you're still looking for a home for the yellow tang.

    360 gallon mixed reef system

Looking for 1600 on the tank and stainless steel stand. I was initially thinking of including the pumps, sumps, skimmer, etc at that price but realized I was quite a bit on the low side there when I started adding it all up.

    360 gallon mixed reef system

No down payments are needed or accepted until water starts pumping out and I start chasing fish with a net so that the buyer or buyers can take possession of whatever it is they bought. Once I have the contacts made to sell the entire setup, or major components thereof, I'll coordinate the...

    360 gallon mixed reef system

Perhaps I misread a later pm from you (I'm checking these messages and responding via cell phone or tablet depending on where I'm at), but your initial two messages stated clearly that you wanted to buy the livestock and 200 lbs of rock (out of the roughly 500lbs in the tank) at $1.50 per lb. I...

    360 gallon mixed reef system

Oh, no worries there! Just trying to find buyers for the rock and equipment portions (in the absence of selling the whole enchilada). After messages from a couple people and poking around the other classifieds it looks like my price on the rock portion was a bit inflated. Probably explains the...

    360 gallon mixed reef system

There has been a lot of interest in livestock (about 5-6 people who want to take the entire livestock category of fish / corals and perhaps 4 others that want individual critters) but relatively few inquiries for the rock and equipment. I have been too busy at work this last week to post the...

    360 gallon mixed reef system

It'll be nearly impossible to catch a specific fish in a tank this size with this much live rock so I'm not going to try and sell individual items or livestock yet unless a few weeks go by and there isn't a buyer for the entire setup. If you're interested in all of the angelfish and tangs...

    360 gallon mixed reef system

Cross-posting this from the Equipment forum since there's a bunch of livestock involved: I'd prefer to sell the entire setup at one time given the time I have available to work with before any future move, but due to size it's more likely that I'll end up selling it in packages (fish / corals /...

360 gallon mixed reef setup for sale

I hate to do this after all the time and effort I've sunk into the system, but my wife and I are going to be house hunting in the next year or so and I definitely don't feel like moving this oversized aquarium. As a result I'm getting out of the hobby for a while. I'd prefer to sell the entire...

360 gallon logistical nightmare and no spare time!

Forgot to mention, aside from cruising around the rocks / walls, the giganto-starfish takes nori sheets from a clip, generally after the piglet fish are sleeping.

360 gallon logistical nightmare and no spare time!

Yep, that's the one! Saw it while browsing the store to kill time a few weeks ago and bought it immediately. Biggest starfish of the type I've ever heard of! It's been doing great in the tank, very active and no signs of deterioration so common with linckia type stars (although the purple types...

360 gallon logistical nightmare and no spare time!

Finally home for the evening, a few more photos just taken of the tank and equipment areas: FTS BIG starfish! Emperor Angel starting to get his adult coloring Left 1/3 of tank Middle of tank Right 1/3 of tank Basement equipment / "fish room" Skimmer and DIY recirculating sulfur...

360 gallon logistical nightmare and no spare time!

Well now... I'm coming up on the 3 year anniversary of setting up this beast and someone reminded me of the build thread here on RF so I figured I'd provide some updates! Lots of new livestock (not much in the way of corals yet, been trying to automate things a bit better before that). I got...

360 gallon logistical nightmare and no spare time!

In response to your question about flow: The four Koralia Magnum 8 pumps plus the sump return were FAR too much flow in this tank for the sand bed (400 lbs of Marco Rocks sand, very small grain aragonite). I traded two of the Mag 8s for four Koralia 4s spaced along the back wall pointing towards...

360 gallon logistical nightmare and no spare time!

Wow, I really let the updates slip didn't I :biggrin1:. I haven't been on the site much, but the tank has been set up for almost a year and a half now! (got water into it some time around September 09). I don't have any current photos of the tank itself in my picasa album (consolidated some...

    generator power

That 2k honda unit would probably work well, it's listed continuous output is 1600w so if your tank is only using ~1k you'd be good to go with some extra safety margin. Just don't make the mistake I made and expect a honda 1k to be sufficient!

    generator power

You're probably safe then with 1000-1200 watts; I thought you had a 100-ish gallon tank based on the avatar photo and figured the power draw would be higher. Keep in mind that the rating for generators is usually based on "peak" output, you want to look at the continuous duty output when...

    generator power

That depends... Do you want the generator to run only life support equipment or nearly everything? I was too lazy to look up the specifics of your tank, but what wattage are your lights? Amp draw on the major pieces of equipment? A couple of 250w halides and a decent size return pump / closed...

    What's in your sump/refugium

150 gallon stock tank sump, seperate 50 gallon stock tank refugium. Since the refugium is not contained within the sump, I chose "Equipment only".
