    Oceansmotions automatic switching current device

Jason, I am not for one second suggesting that one should not build systems as strong as possible, the concern is that when using any 1 1/2 outlet pump pump on an OM 4 way or a simple manifold that has schedule 80 ball valves installed on it that there is the potential that you could potentially...

    Oceansmotions automatic switching current device

Not sure what there is to elaborate on, sched 40 and 80 even sched 20 all have the same O/D different I/D to handle greater pressures, we dont see 10psi in an aqurium , you could likely plumb with schedule 20 but you might just stand on it and break it, you would neve break it with pressure. the...

    Oceansmotions automatic switching current device

Schedule 80 valves have a really bad habit of being way undersized putting a huge restriction on the OM and pump, sched 40 valves with the correct orifice are a better way to go, only sched 80 bulkheads are really required this is a very low pressure application.

You can try plugging some or all the outlets and run the pump for a short period of time, ie just seconds at a time, it may well show the air leaks. loc-line will draw air, keep it submerged.

OK lets assume and you are likely right that they do not suck, they just refill, 2 things we need to do. 1) agree that the water entering the displaced area in the pump actually causes flow while it is doing so. 2) we should change the name suction side to replacement side. Paul ps please do...

But once primed they do suck enough to provide flow Actually Jet pumps function my pumping water into the well through a venturi, like a penductor/eductor and suck water through the head end and push it back to the pump above ground where it is stored or used. Of course they were designed...

You are not being fair with your evaluation, if you remove water from a tank you produce flow regardless if you put it back or not, a reverse carlson has no water being put into the tank it simply moves it and causes flow, a bicycle pump will pull water from a tank and push water back in if...

OK then please explain a reverse carlson surge device. where no water is ever pumped in.

True We were discussing a typical recirculating skimmer.

Let's rephrase this. Providing you have surface water moving toward the overflow box, then the sump turnover rate needs to be no more than 2x.

We also discussed why 10x turnover to the sump was excessive. Why my handicap could be lower if I used different golf balls. How to make a squirrel proof bird feeder. Any comments :)

I was simply pointing out that I found it rude that you would call me a liar when you have no idea what you are talking about. Is this the kind of answer that is now tolerated on this site?

    DIY neodymium cleaning magnet

If you need more power you could use a flux collector, simply a piece of metal that goes across the back of the two magnets, it almost doubles the strength, you would need to counterbore to within 1/8 th of the acrylic install two magnets then use a piece of metal to go across the two and find a...

    DIY neodymium cleaning magnet

You mentioned earlier that you would have a 1/4 plug between them and the surface, any reason you went to that thickness, was it safety to prevent them coming out?
