I actually prefer a wet skimmate because it cuts down on the mess in the cup and on the riser. But thats me.

see below for the response I got my Aquacave regarding my needs for a 2cfm air pump Hi Isaac, For your setup I would recommend SL22 Sweetwater unit. It is a little more expensive comparing to Whitewater models, but it is also much quieter and much more reliable. For more info please visit...

    Maroon Clown question

These were 15 bux a piece so maybe they are wild-caught GSM's! I know the one big one has already started to host in the RBTA and gets SUPER territorial whenever you get anywhere near the tank. Thanks everyone from the help! Oh one other thing, both of them are misbarred the smaller of the...

    Maroon Clown question

I saw some at Dr. Mac's that had white stripes but the caption said that they would turn later in life? These are VERY VERY small clowns right now. If they are white-striped that is cool or if they are gold that is cool just wondering if this metamorphysis actually occurs or not ;)

    The building of the beast.

in person the tank is 100 times more imposing and incredible to look at. Seeing that vlamingi lumber over to mike as he hand-feeds him is GREAT!!! that and the GSM clown that he fears ;)

    Maroon Clown question

On juvenile striped maroons, when can I tell whether or not they are gold-striped or white-striped? I just bought a pair(two or em, not bonded yet) and they are white banded and both less than an inch in length. They were labeled as maroon clowns, tank-raised on the sticker

but still about 30% more than the whitewater pumps :D haha I dont know enough about the air pumps yet to know which is the best for longevity and efficiency.

You do notice the noise of the pump humming away because it was right there next to your ear as you look at the skimmer. The nice thing with air is you can have the air pump out in the garage or wherever you want and it will pump air a great distance without much, if any, loss. If I were to...

I believe Mike is using the LT28 on his.. :D For a smaller size version I would think that the 1.5cfm one would the best for systems up to 300gallons or so.

http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/9751/cid/2328 these should do the trick... They have some that are an even finer pore for Ozone but I fear they may clog ;)

the second best part of the skimmer and something that I think would work great if incorporated into any skimmer, is the wet neck. that is what helps it be really efficient

I was thinking about doing that or just trying to make my own skimmer. I lack the skills and the tools with acrylic to do this myself though.

    LR vs Base Rock

damnit! thrown under the bus again! hhahahaha, Mike is right I bought some base rock from Carib-Sea in an effort to spend less money on this one aspect of setting up my new reef tank. Aside from the major issue of the phosphate loaded base rock from sitting out and being exposed as Mike said...

    New Skimmer

yeah so saw this new airstone skimmer in action today.... AT LESS THAN HALF output on the air pump it was creating what I would consider INSANE bubble amounts, just for shits and giggles Mike cranked it up and the damn cup almost blew off the top of the thing. Depending on the airstones...
