You should not put DOC into the tank like vodka. If over dose the you will get algae and the bacteria that live in balance with the coral will kill the coral. There is a study on the between DOC and bacteria that live in the tank with coral. Since you already see algae in your tank that...

Make container of and add calcite to the container. Let the affluent drip into that. Then run a nother line and let it drip out at the bottom. That way your effluent should be around 7 or better when it hit the tank.

Vac the gravel is the best way to remove junk from the tank. Like everything garbage in garbage out. Don't count on the bacteria to do all the work for you. Also there are lot of other aerobic bacteria that will do the same the only draw back is C02 beging the bi product and could leach the...

    Six Line Wrasse Question

Good fish to have. Make sure your tank is mature to the point where you have lot of bug and work for them to eat. Also if you want giant clam some day and you have problem with those little white parasite snails. Six line would be the best to help keep them under control.

    Algae on Acropora

Yes Phospate and Nitrate is very hard to measure with mature system. Just know that it is there and do everything to clean your tank. Like others responding to your problem. Leave the coral alone and it will do fine. I think your Mg/Alk/Cal measurement might be off. Get better test kit or...
