Possible to keep a tang in a 55 gallon?

Alright so I ordered a small power blue tang (for $35 I couldn't say no). When I see tangs they are always doing one of two things: darting around or eating algae. Most of the time they are eating algae. I think in my 55 gallon where I will have some sea lettuce, chaeto, and whatever other macro...

    Teach me RO/DI

So I've been using tap water. With tetra safe which supposedly neutralizes metals and kills bacteria. I want to get a RO/DI filter. What do these filters do, and where can I get a good one at the BEST PRICE?

Possible to keep a tang in a 55 gallon?

I'm sooo mad a few weeks ago the LFS had small yellow tangs for $24.99. I wish I would have bought one.

Possible to keep a tang in a 55 gallon?

Funny, I was debating between yellow tang and sailfin (possible power blue). Definitely not more than one though. I feel a lot better about this now since you have 3 of them :) For filtration I have an aqua c remora skimmer and a large aquafuge 2 refugium with a DSB, a few small piece of live...

Possible to keep a tang in a 55 gallon?

I really want a tang and only have a 55 gallon tank. I know they like lot of room to swim. What if I got one that was really young? I know they won't stay small forever.

Recommend macroalgaes for the main tank

I got my aquafuge 2 today. I'm going to pack it with live sand, live rock, and chaeto. The return of pods and mandarins has me excited. I'm considering some halimeda for the main tank. I have a 55 gallon, will that be too small to get a sailfin tang? I want to put a small bit of chaeto in the...

newb looking to start a saltwater tank

I highly, HIGHLY disagree. Live rock should be in every saltwater tank. Food source, hiding spot, natural filtration. Even if you don't add a lot, you are never to new for LR :)

Recommend macroalgaes for the main tank

I've had a tank running for about 2 years now but I am currently doing a drastic rehaul on it. I currently have a 55 gallon with shallow sand bed, lots of LR, and a few clowns and some invertebrates with new inhabitants to come. I am getting a large aquafuge 2 refugium that will be filled with...
