    In the second picture, it looks like you have the water flowing out of the tank horizontally. Try throwing a 90 elbow on the end of that and point it down into the water. That should prevent so much air from being sucked in.

    Need some Algae ID...options

    I have had cyano that looked kind of like that too. With the water changes, I siphon out as much as I can. It seems to mostly grow in low flow areas.

    I just bought 2 of them to replace my old PFO ballasts and it is a pretty big improvement. I would say the 27% brighter than the mag ballasts is pretty accurate. I am not sure about the 10% higher than other electronic ballasts though. I haven't compared that.

    I either break it on the edge of the kitchen countertop, or use my fragging shears to cut the size piece I want. Breaking off huge chunks is a problem with any food that comes in a single brick.

    I got some at Barrier Reef a while back. I think it is the nutamar, but I am not sure. All of my fish go nuts over it. Even the pipefish. IMO, it is such a small particle that it seems like it should be good for feeding SPS as well.
