    Bryopsis only thread

I purchased some Tropic Marin Bio Magnesium and I'm hopeing it's not Mg sulfate. The ingedients are vauge but I know Tropic Marin is a great product so I thought I'd give it a try. I can see this will be a little spendy especially since I'll have to use large amounts to adjust my water change...

What is your alkalinity and calcium levels?

IMO you should worry about alk. first and foremost when setting up a new reactor. Keeping a stable measurment around 10-12dkh and then dripping kalk or other supplements to bring calcium to proper levels if calcium levels are low. It seems that some people think a calcium reactor will give...

    Bryopsis only thread

If i was to tear apart the tanks do you think I would be able to eleminate the bryopsis with this method? Is this true? Seems to me that once the rock is completly dry everything is dead. Like I stated before, I am willing to do whatever it takes to eliminate this problem before I move again...

    Bryopsis only thread

I want to start a discussion on a specific algae that everyone hopes to never battle with, that algae is of course Bryopsis. I have setup and maintained almost two dozen reef tanks and have had speed bumps of all types but my newest speed bump is more like a speed mountain. I recently moved a...

    makin diy rock

I have used rock salt before but when it dissolved it left rather smooth indentations that were wierd looking. Did you put the salt in the mix or in the forms. Bye the way, your stuff looks very nice;)

Titanium for sure, my Via Aqua is very durable and reliable even without a seperate controller(although I do use one):)

    Just got shocked!!

Make sure you have a grounding probe in your water. I used to get little zaps on any hangnails on my fingers(I work with my hands) and also when I would brush against reflectors when my hands were in the tank, now I've got a probe and I don't get shocked:)

That page is AWESOME! I'd be lost without it:D I kinda wish there were some updates as far as new reflector designs and the difference in ouput they create

Seen the new Lumenarc's w/ black reflector

I know the SE lamps are already protected, I was just wondering beacause on the Reef Lighting Page I noticed a big drop in par when comparing sheilded or not sheilded with the double ended bulbs. I just figured it might do the same to a SE bulb:confused:

Really, are then being made somewhere new or are they just not being made as well due to massive demand or something:confused:

Cheap I agree but that thing looks brand new, it should be working at least pretty good. I've had the same unit for two years and it still works great, although it will probably be replaced soon do to salt creep corrosion:(
