    Rookie questions

With only 15 inches front to back, regulating power head flow might be problematic. Since your tank is rather deep, you'd likely have to stack a wall of live rocks so that you could have corals near to top. But in doing so, you might find that the flow is really hard to control. Because the...

Sounded like you had a busy weekend, in a good way:)

    green hair algae

+1 for the RO/DI suggestion above. Nothing but algae grief for me until I bit the bullet and switched over to good water.

I lost another frag into the rock abyss when my stupid clown charged me again.

    Amazing ocean pictures.

Thanks for posting. I found myself noticing corals more now that I started reef keeping.

how much equipment is too much?

In deciding your RO/DI unit, view the output capacity not as how much water you'll be making total but how fast the unit can make water. Let's say you'll be doing 20g water changes every so often, the faster the unit, the less you'll have to wait.

Foxface has ich :( need help

Man, talk about stuck between a rock and a hard place:) So, if I understood correctly, the only real ich treatment for a reef tank is to remove fish so that ich no longer have hosts. Treat the fish separately and re-introduce at a later time when both tank and fish are clear of ich?

Foxface has ich :( need help

I've heard that ich treatment might harm the live rocks? Any truth to this?

    sump flow? please help

One thing that I've learned is that the look of sump flow could be deceptive. I was expecting massive amount of water rushing down but it was indeed just a function of the return pump.

    Angry Clownfish

I hate mean clowns. Mine almost always attack me when I stick my hand in the tank.

talk to me about my fishie

    Love hate relationship!

Got bitten three more times today but I was watching for it so I didn't freak out. Still pretty funny seeing his face though. Jerk.

Wow! Your tank looks soooo clean. Congrats.

    Love hate relationship!

Man, my maroon bites me every time. It doesn't hurt but it does startle me which usually causes me to react and knock something over. This would lead to more hand time in the tank to reset the damage and start the viscous cycle all over again:)

    Starting my 150

Yeah, I know what you mean by heavy. When me and a buddy set up my 90 gal glass, I thought it really weight a ton.

Starting another tank after having aquarium fire

Yikes! Sounds really scary. Hopes everything works out for you.

    Lighting help please??

If it's any consolation, algae seems to come and go as it pleases in my tank w/ seemingly no rhymes nor reasons.

    Lightning maroon clownfish

Too bad the second one is an April fool's joke :)
