    is it hot or is it just me?

    I have a clip on fan that I use to blow the heat from the lights out. So far it is working great. Tank temp stays at 80. The house is another matter entirely!!! It was so hot yesterday that it was cooler outside than in the house!!!! Today it is better, but still hot!

    Nikki, I change about 1/3 of the water once a month and I haven't really had to top off much. I do use water from my main tank when I change it. Elmo, It is a cynanria hanging on the ledge. I have a small green brain on the sandbed. So far so good.

    thanks guys! The sexy shrimp are very fun to watch, I am glad to have found them. I have 3 lbs of live rock, sand, whisper hob power filter, 25 watt heater, 50/50 10 watt bulb. I would like to put a mini jet ph in there for more water flow.

    tank is 4 yrs old-had a bad crash about 1 yr ago lost a lot of my corals, the fish survived though!! here is another picture-this is my other bubble coral I got it as another "save" from the LFS It has grown a lot!!

    Thanks to all! I have 2 actinic and 2 white PC lights. The actinic are on at 1400 off at 2400 the whites are on at 1500 off at 2300. The mushroom leather started out as a small frag that was a "save" from the LFS. It has grown to giant size in the tank. Yea that clam is my favorite too...

    How does your family feel about your saltwater aquarium hobby?

    my husband tolerates my hobby!! He does enjoy looking at the tank and does buy me stuff sometimes! The kids think it is cool, my daughter likes to name shrimp and fish. When friends come over they are always amazed by the tank. Makes me feel great!
