Backup plans for heating if I loose Power??

I use a 2000w honda, I bought for the boat and in winter I bring it home incase I need it. I did have to use it for about 8hrs, ran my entire set up except the chiller. When you have alot of money invested you need a back up. That is a real nice set up you have MC Lighting : ).

    Phosphate remover/need help asap

Thanks for all the help and info. I think I will wait and let the tank settle down. I think I will run carbon in the furture and not the phosphate remover. I'm not sure if I even need the carbon, I have read most of the treads on carbon use. A lot of reefers say use it all the time and others...

I think I used way to much to start with, I did rinse with r/o water but since I haven't used this stuff for a long time the corals didn't like it. I don't know why I thought I needed it since I couldn't detect any on the test kits. I changed about 30g over a 3 day's and turned off the reactor...

    Chiller Size Suggestion!!!

I would run a 1/4h. I'm running one on a 120 + 30g sump and same lighting as you are. My chiller runs for 10min at a time about 3 to 4 times a day and that is in the summer months. Ken

    top off: kalkwasser or saltwater

You would top off with fresh water, not salt water. Salt doasn't leave the tank. Test the cal levels in your made up water before you do a water change to see what it's at. I was having trouble with cal levels in my tank and turned out the levels in the made up salt water were very low. Ken

    GEO Calcium Reactor

I think your ph will be more stable when you do that. I never touch my settings now that it's where I want it. I'm running it on a 120g. Ken

    GEO Calcium Reactor

Geo I have a GEO and had troubles at first also. I set my bubble count to 10 per min and set the drip at 40 per min. My ph is stable now and cal is steady at 450 to 500 now. I run kalk now and then to help with the ph. I hope this helps. Once it's set you will really like it. Ken

Minimum co2 tank for calcium reactor

I'm running a 20# bottle on my 120, last about 4 to 6 months. I'm having trouble keeping the cal at 400, i think the sps's and everything else are using up alot of cal. I run a geo reactor and have been adding alot of co2 to try to keep the cal up. Anyone else having trouble keeping the cal up...
