    Quarantining for lots of fish…..

Well, I got a 12gal Esclipe tank Friday for QT for the Panther. Set it up and let it get going for 2 days then added the Panther Sun night. Didn't make it 2 hours. He had got pretty bad by the time I caught him, didn't even flee from the net. My question on the QT tank, are the filters done on...

    Quarantining for lots of fish…..

Well, not good. Most of the fish didn't not make it through the night. Only the Panther and the domino are left. Losing the Harlequin Tusk hurts the most. Not just the $ but he was the coolest fish, always out and sooo beautiful. I am complemting stopping hypo-ing the main tank (only a couple...

    Quarantining for lots of fish…..

Any idea on a schedule of water changes? And the other would be what would I use to rise/lower the PH?

    Quarantining for lots of fish…..

FWIW, my lighting is 2 175watt MH's that run from 6-11pm and 2 110watt VHO actnics that run from 12-12. The tank receives a lot of light from a big front window it's adjacent to. Flow is a Mag 18 return (valved off a lot though) and a Wave2k center unit.

    Quarantining for lots of fish…..

Well, thankfully I haven't stocked any corals yet and there is no coraline. I definitely will be planning to take my time. I guess now my questions are what should I do different then the hypo sticky? I imagine I should keep my sump and skimmer (EV-240) running? What about my phosban reactor...

    Quarantining for lots of fish…..

Well, it looks like my 125gal has come down with Ich.  While I should have done this from the get go, I'm ready to quarantine them now. My question is that I already have so many fish, would hypo'ing the main tank be my best option? Here are the fish; double whiptail bream 2.5"...

    Cuban Hogfish..... Anything?

Awesome thanks! I guess this would be a nice trade off fish with my roommate, which had his heart set on the horrid idea of a parrrotfish!:badgrin::badgrin: Does anyone know if they're more seasonal? I'd like to add him and the tusk together, and I'm noticing more tusks available...

    Cuban Hogfish..... Anything?

Would anyone have any experience keeping, or have anything to add about Cuban Hogfish? I would like to add one to my stocking list for my 125gal predator reef. The two things I really would like to find out are how coral safe are they. Wetweb seems to think they are the best fish ever but...

    Copperband Butterfly

Awesome thanks for the help! I've always thought of comparing them to dwarf angels size-wise (though I have seen CBB's over 5"). A bit O/T, but do would they go after a sponge (specifically red tree sponge)? What about dwarf angels (flame)? I know sponges are large angels main diet in the wild...

Got a rubbermaid sump, lets see it!

Well that plan would be a bit different. It would have been two containers on either end with the fuge draining into the return. The fuge would have been fed by a seperate intake. The skimmer/equip. side by a different. I think I'm going a diff. route. Looking for opinions on this set-up. It...

Got a rubbermaid sump, lets see it!

I'm leaning towards a rubbermaid type sump for my 125gal, since there really isn't a standard tank that fits very well. The fuge, would be contained in a smaller rubbermaid, that would be drilled to overflow, into a larger rubbermaid, that would act as the equipment area and the return. All this...

    Skimmer question...

Not a clue on the individual pumps. The options offered were either AB's or H3's??(haven't heard of them) I may go with a 6" neck and meshmod the ABs if necessary and maybe with the T plate pending the response...

    Skimmer question...

Dang, those pumps sound good. That would be 5000lph for both Sicce pumps (before mesh modding :eek:), that's insane. I'll have to have some type drum for a collection cup overflow lol. Yea, it's definitely going to have a heavy load, so we'll see on the skimmer.

    Skimmer question...

Hey all, good looking board you guys got here. Hopefully I'll fit in nicely here. I have some concerns about a custom skimmer I may be order. Due to a short stand, the limit of a skimmer height is 22". My tank being set-up is a 125gal, that I would like to turn into a predator reef. So, I would...
