    Distilled or RO water

    Anything is better than tap water. I have friend who was using distilled and gave up on it after a few months because of the cost. Buying and RO/DI will cost some up front but saves you money long term and gives you pure water.

    Phosphate/Silicate Tests

    Can someone recommend a good phosphate and silicate test kit. I use Salifert for calc. alk, ph, nitrates but I have read that their phosphate is hard to read. Thanks ahead of time.

    According to Reef Nutrition arcti-pods are similar to cyclopeeze just a bit larger, roughly 6X the size.

    Have you checked ammonia? Even though your tank is cycled it is worth checking. Did you look over the fish to make sure there were not dots or dust look on them to rule out disease?

    My coraline algae did the exact same thing. Turned white which I was told was dead skelton from the coraline. After about 4 months my coraline started to come in slowly (some green in the higher spots of my tank) and after about 6 months took off. Patience and Calcium is the key!

    Is My Bubble Coral Dead?

    What is your water flow like in that part of the tank? If it is too high the bubble coral will not fully open.
