using a Plenum in a aquarium

using a Plenum in a aquarium

Xfisher, a recommendation, from a personal point of view and experience, would be to add a small reactor like this one... Reactor and this media... Phosar HC These products will increase phosphate control dramatically! Just a suggestion that would help long term. :)

using a Plenum in a aquarium

Xfisher, Clumping of the sand is very common on systems with higher Ca and Alk levels if the sand bed is not "stirred", either by you or by sand sifters. Update on coral set up at the Field Museum

Hi Luisa, A couple of things... 1. The use of Chicago tap water is good for alkalinity because it is liquid rock! However, you should try to use RO/DI water.(Reverse Osmosis/De-ionized Water). This will reduce any nutrients being introduced to the system, provide a more stable environment...

Yeah, I got a PAR meter that my local club SEASL has. I will be picking it up this weekend. What I am going to do is take a PAR reading under my old Pheonix14k DE 250w lamps, then a reading halfway down, then a reading on the sand bed. Then I will install my new bulbs. They will be...
