    RO/DI solution? anyone?

I agree I to do this and it makes a big difference. I have a 100' roll of 1/4" tubing in one of my sumps that uses the warm tank water to pre-heat my R/O's water intake.

How do you drip calcium - home made?

When I used to drip two part I used two aqualifter pumps one from each container of A and B solution that sucked the solution out of each. Each pumps outtake flow ml/min was regulated by a plastic needle valve. Each aqualifter was then plugged into an electronic timer switch one that can be...

    how to frag

What works best for me is cutting a piece or usually allot of pieces trying to get base and polyp on each piece. I then drop in a tank with low flow on coarse substrate so they attach on their own if this is not possible I use a rubber band to hold in place on rubble making sure it is only tight...

    DIY "Lumenarc" reflectors

I have a file of the plans that I used to make 8 of these bad boys. If you still need a file send me your email and I can send it to you. The file itself has the measurements labeled for each piece with a scale ruler so I told Staples to print it out to scale for example where a piece that was...

Here is how I did it took a little work but it is good as new now. I first used 400 wet sand paper going in one direction opposite of the direction of the...

    Buffing and resealing acrylic tank?

For polishing acrylic I use sand paper for the deep scratches I wet sand with 400, 800 then 1000 grit until the scratch is gone. I then use Maguire’s three step car polish with a 6" power buffing wheel, starting with rubbing compound working up to a fine polish. Using this method I have brought...

    fish removale

I use a one quart wide mouth masson jar with a vegi clip inside and a suction cup on the outside bottom attached to aprox. 15' of fishing line. I submerge the jar onto its side on my sand bed and wait for the fish to eat out of it. When the right one is in eating I jently pull on the fishing...

    Yellow & Purple tangs

I have a 140 with 4 tangs in it as well as a few other fish all introduced at different times. A Yellow, Powder Brown, Purple and Naso. The yellow was the first and only problem when new tangs were introduced. I delt with him by putting it in the sump for a few weeks so it lost its teritory. No...

    Bristle worms

My Eight line wrasse keeps my population in control. I used to have too many thousands at lights out and feeding times. Some were way too big for the traps you can buy. My eight line was a baby 1.5 inch when I got him and in only a few months of always being gorged on worms he more than tripled...

Why do people put socks to catch water as it falls into the fuge/sump?

I change mine a few times a week. I have around a dozzen of them and wash them all in the washing machine without soap twice. I invert them on the second wash. Works great with no problems for years.

List of fish/invert natural predators to common Pests

Bristleworms to some are not pest but for me they were in my 140gal. I had thousands and some were really big but my Eight line Wrasse once introduced thined them to a more desired population all within a few weeks. And boy was he fat and grew fast during those few weeks.

    Aptasia-X

I used it on the two aptasia's I had in my tank three times and each time they have came back the next month. IMO it stinks. Kalk past has worked better for me.

    Buble Tip Anemone Questions!

I second the latter. Also watch out for it moving and stinging any corals it touches.

One thing that bothers me. I know im picky

I agree with Trido. And also would like to add I find the FS/FT/WTB ads informative in themselves. It allows for alot members on this fourm to actually meet, show off and discuss the trials and acomplishments of their displays during some of these Trades/Sales. I have not yet visited a members...
