    520g Peninsula Build

I can't wait to see them :) I'm really starting to get the angel fever too. I'm trying to choose carefully as I still want a reef tank. I really won't mind having a softy/euphyllia heavy tank if it means having them. There is more movement and structure involved in those corals anyway.

    520g Peninsula Build

Well to be fair, 8 of those are multiples ;) I keep my fish very well fed and aggression is never an issue. I'm also very careful about introduction order, and take the time to get to know my fish in quarantine before dropping them in a display. There are some people around here that call me the...

    520g Peninsula Build

16 ;) I am fully prepared to keep up with my water quality, if that is your concern. I'm really thinking I won't add any more large tangs, although I've always really loved the orange shoulder. About half of the tangs on that list I've gotten since I picked up the tank - they are going through...

    520g Peninsula Build

I love the flame wrasses. Unfortunately my husband is a wrasse hater... something about the way they swim. I'll work on convincing him of those, but it will be a while after the tank is set up if we do. We have a canopy for the tank - it just isn't on yet. If we decide to leave it off I'll be...

    520g Peninsula Build

I suppose I should attach my tentative stocking list for you guys :typing: Current fish are spread out between a few holding tanks and my DT. Most of the big fish I already have, only a few that are still in the works. I'm big into the tang community tanks and I'm trying to gather everything...

    600g FOWLR Build

Looks like it's going to be awesome! I'm a big fan of those water change tanks... mind if I ask where you got them? You can do a reef with angels and triggers, some puffers :) Choose the fish and corals carefully, but there's no greater thing than seeing large angels in a reef IMO.

    520g Peninsula Build

Thank you! Right now the whole thing can pretty start running with salt water - just waiting on the ability to buy lights. Our decision to construct a sump room really delayed setup more than I thought it would. In the long run it will be completely worth it though.

    520g Peninsula Build

Update So this past week we finished the plumbing into the sump room. Everything in line is hooked up and we are water testing the tank/plumbing. So far, so good! My husband installing the overflow pipes in his pajamas: Drain area in the sump: Hammerhead plumbed in: Filling the sump...

Redesign of my 375 gallon tank

Awesome scape! The anemones look really happy.

    520g Peninsula Build

We were planning to be able to do about 100g at a time. As it is, I can do a 55g water change on my 210 by draining water and flipping a valve. I would be interested in how you do yours, but we have a tentative plan/design for a quick water change setup.

    520g Peninsula Build

Thanks. I'm pretty knowledgeable myself, I just like sharing with other like-minded individuals :P Most people (around here at least) don't "get" this hobby at all and think I'm crazy for wanting a huge fish tank in my living room.

Wow, just checked out your thread! It turned out awesome :) I love your fish

    520g Peninsula Build

Thanks :) It's going slower than I'd like, it's crazy what goes into a build this size! Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll have enough done on the sump room to post pictures.

    520g Peninsula Build

Thanks IPisces mfinn - I researched this subject pretty extensively before executing it. From what I was seeing, the muriatic acid is a much harsher chemical (1:10 concentration) and disposal is something that needs to be well thought out, and it's a bit harder to purge the rock of afterwards...

    520g Peninsula Build

I was able to give my rock some attention last night. In the research I had done, I found that Pukani is known for leaching phosphates into the water due to all of the dead material still in the rock. I went ahead and pressure washed each piece, and tried to pull some of the gunk out. Here are...

    520g Peninsula Build

A 17 foot uhaul, 6 guys, and a full weekend. We barely fit it in the truck (had to disassemble the stand), then had to get creative getting it in the house. Not the funnest part of this build by far :P

    520g Peninsula Build

I had heard that Barrier carried them. I will have to try and make a trip down there to check them out in person.

    520g Peninsula Build

Lol, of course by "on a budget" I actually mean "so I still have enough money for my mortgage." We are kidding ourselves in this hobby.. No closed loop as of yet, but I have two spare holes in the overflow that we are talking about making into one. We have an oceans motions unit that has the...

    520g Peninsula Build

Thanks guys :) We have been playing with this since June, and there's a ton of unseen work that's been done. The tank is plumbed under the house to the sump room, and the floor was reinforced just to be safe. We are hoping to have water in it very soon! There are a couple plumbing touch ups that...

    520g Peninsula Build

Well, I finally decided it's time to start the build thread! I keep waiting until we get a little farther along so I have pictures to share, but I figure we'll get to that later. Right now I'm running a 210 gallon mixed reef, my fish have grown, and I found myself overstocked! I love my fish...
