Well your going to think I'm crazy

No real reason. QA Issue not sure. But I had an mp10 wet side replaced. And one of my mp40's had to have the wet side and dry side. Basically a new pump other than the controller. One thing you an try is go take the wet side off and try the pump on. If it's noisy the I needs to be replaced. If...

Well your going to think I'm crazy

If the EcoTech MP's are noisy contact them. They'll figure it out and replace whatever is wrong with it. I have 2 wet sides and one dry side replaced. The pumps where all brand new and where to noisy, contacted EcoTech and within a few days new part was at my door step. Assuming they still have...

    Nitrate Spike Reason?!?

Possible test kit issue? Can you try with a different test kit other than API? Maybe take water to a LFS for testing also.

    High Phosphates why?

At this time I'd just slowly remove the bio balls and try to convert what's there until things get back to proper order. Once you start changing the skimmer etc. I imagine the sump(s) will needs to be changed in order to accommodate that and no reason to really start throwing a bunch of money...

    High Phosphates why?

Not sure how affective the PO4 sponges are. Get a media reactor and run some GFO in it and plan to replace it weekly at this point as it will exhaust quickly with levels that high. What are all the other params as I can image Nitrates are high also? With 5 years of neglect it's going to be a...

    High Phosphates why?

Sounds like the work he is doing is stirring stuff and releasing, leaching back out of the substrate and or rock. 1.5-2 is not great but as you mentioned it all really depends on livestock, but it's also pretty amazing how stuff can adapt over a long period of time where the levels might not...

    High Phosphates why?

Excuse the type-o's etc. dang autocorrect on phones now days makes us look illiterate most of the time.

    High Phosphates why?

What salt mix is he using? If all 5 tanks are about the same you're on the right path of checking the makeup water as the source first. Does have a reference point to what the levels where prior or you just assuming it was lower than this prior. On thing that is also over looked is the overflow...

    ICH is back

One more thing. At the point you can see it on the fish the life cycle has already begun. They reproduce and the cycle continues. So the fact you might not see anything on a fish for a few weeks doesn't mean the tank is it not infected, just means the baby's haven't frown to adulthood yet.

    ICH is back

Ich is a parasite plan a simple. No fish is immune to it, just some fish are better at fighting it off. Either way once it's in the tank it will be in the tank forever unless it sits fallow for a min of 6 weeks with no fish in. In reading this it sounds like the correct course of action was...

    RO/DI expectations

Could by chance have you got something plumbed wrong and actually taking waste water instead of the filtered water. What is the TDS going in the filter? If you measure the TDS from both of you outputs is one lower than the other. Just trying to understand why you're getting more filtered water...

    My tank crashed today, Help

👍👍👍 all my stuff is on GFCI and have never had a problem with it. There's a reason why they're required for damp or wet locations. To protect you and anyone else in the area. Water and electricity is a bad combination.

Need help selecting QUIET return pump

Agree. I have a DART in the garage as a return pump for mine. It's nice and quiet. I have a lot of head in order to get it back into the tank so I don't know what I'm getting exactly with it as for GPH. Keep in mind if it's to much you can put a ball valve or gate valve on it to reduce the GPH...

    210 In Wall

Maybe.. 5% is pretty dark. The cost is pretty cheap. You can pick it up at Schucks or Walmart has it also. This mine right after I set it up.

    Fish don't fart. Right?

My blue Tang does it all the time. Just swimming around and then all of a sudden a grouping of bubbles come out as rise to the top. Don't see why they wouldn't, they eat food and have to have bacteria in the stomach to break down the food. By product of the bacteria is gas.

    210 In Wall

Hey Trido, In November I upgrade from a 75 to a 90 AGA. I used 5% window tint instead of paint or the standard black backing material. I thought it turned out good and you cannot really even tell it's tint from the front.
