15 Day Mark - Questions As Mov'en Along

I'd recommend a Refractometer at some point for testing. It's not required but is more accurate then the good old swing gauge. If not at least confirm with someone nearby (LFS?) that owns a refract the swing is accurate. You are correct the swing gauges have been know to be 1 point off on a few...

    I killed a crab...

It sucks, but it's part of keeping a reef tank. One bad critter in the small confined area can cause a bunch of damage. It better to remove such critters before a problem arises.

    Salt

It shouldn't be to big of a problem. I personally don't like changing salts simple because I never know what each different levels will be IE: CA, MG, ALK, etc. I use IO and it's been by far the most stable salt mix. Never used Aqua Medic salt so cannot help much there. If I had to change...

    Coraline Problem

No metal on acrylic. You'll leave scratches. The safest thing is the plastic scrapers. They don't work as well as razor blades on glass but it's about the only option you have. I hate scraping the stuff myself but a doing a little now and then will keep you ahead of it. I try to scrape mine...

    Tank Is Crashing Please Help!!

Glad you got this all figured out. Vinegar or muriatic acid is good for cleaning equipment. I would fill up a sink or tub up with vinegar and turn it on an let it run for a while. This might take a couple times to get all the soap out of there. As for cleaning agents etc. never clean anything...
