now I feel terrible. The tank has nothing in it but live rock, it has been about 4 months and now I want to put some live stock into the tank.

When I put the LR in about a month later I noticed this tiny crab. I thought it was great, then it started to grow and I noticed huge pinchers on the little guy. Got a little concerned that it was a bad crab andthe he would attack the small fish I plan on putting into the tank.

It is a 34 gallon nano, so I saw him on a tiny rock that I could remove easily enough. I took the rock and shook it and he would not fall out. So I ran very hot water over it and I think he cooked.

Now I feel terrible.

It sucks, but it's part of keeping a reef tank. One bad critter in the small confined area can cause a bunch of damage. It better to remove such critters before a problem arises.

your a bad bad person.... lol

dont worry.. im not sayings its cool but its not a big deal... 10million others will be born... the world is capable of covering its own but...

One shouldn't feel badly for taking antibiotics, putting a rabid dog down, nor eating to survive. Everything dies, some just less directly. I feel your pain, but well done for being tough enough to do an unpleasant necessity.

You did the right thing attempting to remove it from your tank. I would have most likey turned into a coral eater or a small fish preditor.
Even if you could have gotten it out alive, trying to find a suitable home for it would be tough.
