    new Anemone

Well unless you are planning on feeding your clownfish to the condi I wouldn't recommend getting them too close to it. Clowns don't host in them. Small clowns can be eaten by a condi. I would take it back and demand a refund if they told you it would host clowns. If they don't take it back I...

    Decapsulating Brine Shrimp Eggs

I'm sorry to hijack this thread but what all do you feed your horses. Anything out of the ordinary that I should try?

Steven's Mixed Reef! (lots of pics)

Dwarves need to be kept in a small tank because of their feeding habits. They will not actively search for food, but wait for it to come floating by. If you try and put a few dwarves in a large thank the odds of the food floating in front of their face is small...unless you just totally fill...

Steven's Mixed Reef! (lots of pics)

Please do not do seahorses in this reef. As stated before they need a low flow tank with special food requirements. Also they will hitch onto anything that they can including your corals which can sting the horses tail leading to other problems. Not to mention that the hitching can hurt your...

    Decapsulating Brine Shrimp Eggs

Ok well maybe they don't go into "shock" but I want them to survive as long as possible. It's hard enough keeping a seahorse tank clean without the little buggers dying before they can be eaten. I like the selcon because it contains the HUFA something I know that is needed by my little...

    Decapsulating Brine Shrimp Eggs

I keep mine at a slightly higher salinity. I try and match the salinity of my tank water so they aren't as shocked when they enter the tank. I am feeding mine to seahorses from time to time and they don't all get eaten at once. So the longer they stay alive in the tank the better. I have...

I enjoy the people at syngnathid.org as well. It is very informative. I am fairly new at keeping them but will help when I can.

    damsel problems

So just out of curiousity did you get this fish as something to cycle your tank with? Was it the first fish in the tank? If so that's probably why it has killed the other fish? Did you do any research on the fish to learn that they were aggressive before you bought it?

my starfish gets skinny unless I don't clean

Linkia starfish are so picky. Either they do flurish in your tank or they die. No in between. I've always stayed away from them since they are so finicky.

    Algae controll problem

Looks like you've got a nice battle with cyano going there. It's a natural progression that I think everybody goes through when starting their tank. And some after the tank has been up for a while. I'm sure there are more then a few threads on it. I would just type in cyano or cyanobacteria...

Hi! Wow, glad I found this site... 6.5 pico tank...

I agree PC's will heat up. Why don't you look at getting some T5's? They are just as bright it not brighter and put out less heat!!!

    cabinet doors

Well the size is a bit strange so I'm not sure a prefab door would work. Besides then it wouldn't be DIY and DonW wouldn't be proud of me

Giant 'pods...do they need a predator?

I would think a 30 gallon wouldn't be a large enough tank to support a mandarin goby, unless you are planning on supplementing the tank with tigger pods or some other type of pods.
