    Water Damage to Home?

I wouldn't use a liner under the stand, it will trap water under it if you do have a problem which will cause staining. I would advise making the stand with feet that lift the stand off the floor. Any real problems would be limited to those areas only. Depending on the current floor finish...

    DIY Beckett skimmer

Nice build. 1 question, does the area where the injectors enter the main mixing area form a large bubble trap. The reason I ask is that my diy beckett developed these bubbles in the main mixing area to the point that I burped this bubble disrupting the foam head every few minutes.

    Coralife Skimmer Question

My corallife 220 had a hang on bracket. I found that I worked best if I kept my in sump water level up near the bracket.

Way too much humidity. Need advice.

For me It was a no brainer, In North Carolina the outside humidity in the summer runs around 80+ humidity. Pulling in outside air wasn't an option. Putting a lid on my tanks only resulted in increasing my tank temps. De-humidifier was the way to go. It has a humidity sensor built in so that...

    Closed loop pump selection

Go with at least 1 1/2" inlet the more the better. Once you get water in it, its a pain to find out you need more supply

    protein skimmer mod

the coralifes are not known for the best bubble production, what ever pump you apply. The do work but aren't the one of the best skimmers out there. IMO, you just can't compare a coralife's production with against what you see with many other skimmers.

    Gravity fed skimmer question

IMO you need to get a real pump of some sort to drive the return to your tank something in the order of a mag 24. Once you deciede on a skimmer your pump issue there will probably be settled since most skimmers come with a pump. If not then get the appropiate pump to drive the skimmer.

    Gravity fed skimmer question

I run a mag 12 solely to power my recir-beckett. I dn't think it would push enough to tee it off to your return. My best guess is that your going to need to get another pump anyway.

    Critter ID help please

This is the best picture i could get of this critter. It has a hard red/purple tube. As you can see the oral disk is a green color with tiny tentacles extending around the disk. I'm uncertain what it is so I thought I'd throw it up for suggestions.

    Maxi-Jet Modification

ronj trimming down the prop will usually make the mj start up. use a dremel sander held at 90 deg to the prop while it is still on the shaft and grind away. trimming it in this manner will balance it.

    Garf's Grunge question..

I'll jump in on the bandwagon and say just let it get worked in on its own. I used it to jump start my tank and I'd swear by it.
