    Nitrofurazone question

I'm confused with the use of this med... Nitrofurazone is used for treating burns that have become infected? You have a burned fish???? Guess I'll have to await Lee's answer, so I can learn (as always) :D

Anyone heard of or try ECO-Aqualizer Ion System

If you're offering to purchase all of us one of those... I'll put in my order for the 310gallon one now.:lol:

    saterday morning lfs run!

Back to your Origninal Question: Yes, I also agree... Eric (Owner) and Matt (great helper) of The Shark Reef are both AWESOME... not only knowing me by sight, but name as well... and just that added personal touch pushes his store way over the top of the rest of the LFS's in my area, and even...

    Depressing water test news!

Both are great quotes! Your tank is too young to need any suppliments yet. Check your SG, get it under control again with water changes... and let your system finish cycling.

very frustrated with my new 2 true percs

Also remember... your LFS (Local Fish Store) is constantly receiving new stock. Even in a "Coral Only" tank, that stock just came in from somewhere... that most likely had contact with fish, in one way or another. With that in mind... this is what leads to the saying "QT EVERYTHING wet"...

How to Make a Safe Water Change for Fish

Yuri, I read that part of Lee's article as meaning when replacing your daily evaporation, use RO/DI or deionized. Not necessarly in conjunction with doing a water change.

    Sick French Anglefish

Sometimes, "things" happen. Try to do what you can, but keep in mind your piticular restrictions, and do your best. The Hypo works WONDERFULLY, when you keep it down at 1.008-1.009 for those FOUR WEEKS after you see the last sign of Ich, I will contest to that! When it does come time to raise...

    bulkhead

    Anytime :)

    bulkhead

On a 65 gallon tank, I would recommend the Sch-40 bulkheads (black), that are available from Marine Depot... if one of your LFS's (local fish stores) don't carry them. (see link below) You don't really need the "Heavy Duty" or Sch-80 on a tank your size, but they wouldn't hurt either I guess...

    qt tank???

LOL Too funny!!! :D :D That Clown Trigger was very tiny, and at that stage of developement they do tend to be awesome tankmates. Years and years ago, I had one that ended up being just under 12" long... and had grown into the definate "BOSS OF THE TANK"!!! Then again, if I had a mouth that...

    Sick French Anglefish

Yes... thats just the tail section of my Achilles Tang. AWESOME fish! :D They do want pleanty of swimming room (length), and as with similar Tang's (Power Blue, Power Browns) are very seseptible to all the Tang illness's, and you need to plan ahead for a very good QT period.

    qt tank???

Trillyen, 1st, and most importantly... WELCOME TO REEF FRONTIERS!!! :D :D :D Personally, I wouldn't add ANY sand into my QT tank. With the various treatments you will be using your QT tank for, any benifit of live sand would quickly be lost anyway... not to mention it makes it that much...

    Sick French Anglefish

Adding a UV unit to a good QT can't hurt anything... but keeping in mind working on a limited budget... I would opt for the addition of a pH probe and Meter... for a much better "bang for your buck" idea. I would also treat your Tang, along with your Angle. As you have already figured out...

    Sick French Anglefish

Jon, To get you started, here is a "Quickie" on how to do Hyposalinity, until Lee gives you move information. "Hyposalinity - Using a refractometer, hold salinity at 11ppt to 12ppt until 4 weeks after the last spot was seen. (Best to use salinity, but if you use specific gravity, that equates...

    tmc v2 400 skimmer

Petelee, 1st... WELCOME TO REEF FRONTIERS!!! :D Often, a brand new skimmer requires a "break-in" period... of upwards of a week, before it starts operating properly. It sounds like this is where you are at right now. I would give it until about next Wednesday... and then start doing your...

Sump Tell me if it crazy or good

The top filter section would be a good area for either a Filter Sock, or Filter Floss (depending on how it is setup) to help remove particulates before they reach your sump. That is ONLY... IF... you are willing to do the required maintenance with having a Filter Sock or Filter Floss in your...

Buying Salt Part 1 - What is Most Important?

I am going to have to go with "Consistency". I know, for my needs, buffering in one way or another is going to have to be accomplished. What I've looked for is a brand that tends to be the most consistent, so my needs and buffering is very similar from batch to batch.
