I am just posting to see what others think about this my gut tells me it's probably a waste but of couse it sounds good. There web site is.

http://www.ecoaqualizer.com/aquarium.htm

"All aquariums contain metabolic wastes which over time slowly degrade water quality and create unhealthy conditions. Unfortunately, monthly water changes have been the only way to help control these issues. But not anymore! Introducing ECO-AqualizerTM, the first aquarium IONIZATION system that revitalizes water quality to a constant healthy balance and keeps water crystal clear year-round.

How does it work? Water simply flows through the ECO-AqualizerTM unit, where the internal reaction chamber ionizes the passing water molecules. This not only neutralizes impurities but triggers the Reactivity of water. Reactivity is the molecular interactions between water molecules. This is essential because it aids in the diffusion of nutrients, reduces accumulation of toxins and supports nitrifying bacteria.

In all closed aquarium system, reactivity is decreased by the build up of metabolic wastes. ECO-AqualizerTM uses PATENTED negative ionic energy provided by a proprietary blend of basic electromagnetic physics combined with NASA’s space age far infrared radiation to ensure that aquarium water is constantly being rid of its toxic impurities and remains in a healthy, reactive state. This in turn directly improves the:

The result is a simple, maintenance-free unit neatly designed to provide around the clock molecular purification with natural flowing streams of IONIZATION. This innovative breakthrough reduces the ionic bond of H2O molecules to allow greater oxygen availability and enhanced breakdown of impurities and ammonia. Resulting in an incredible filtration BOOST by up to 300%."

:lol::lol::lol: I cant really understand how they are still around but youve got to give them credit for the great advertising if nothing else.

Oh man - I always laugh whenever this resurfaces and it seems to come up every few months.

The company claims you don't have to use a skimmer - so what does that tell you?

Here is an copy/paste from someone that opened one up...

We had one given to us @ a trade show in states ,we cut it open & was basicly a whole bunch of small magnets ,wraped around the inner tube with electrical tape.

So realy you don't need to try it to know it doesnot work.

Yea I saw that, Then went to the wesite to read about it and it seemed fake. But I wondered if it pluged in and was somehow maybe electrically affecting the water...but how? And From the description it seemed like magnets would be in it ?

I did not see anything about a skimmer. LOL

I was just curious basically :)

i'd like to make the "skinny puppy" version of that tank with bones instead of corals sticking out of the center...you could hang fake brains, hearts and assorted guts off the bones...an emo kids dream tank...lol, they'd sell them at hot topic:razz::idea:

as for the eco aqualizer?
i just threw up in my mouth...
