Which is the best star for DSB?

= is what you want i've heard people say you need a sand bed in a 180g+ to have a regular sand sifting star survive in your sand for a more natural lifespan.

    damsel vs. chromis

ask for some old water from someone here who lives near you with an established reef(i say reef so you don't get some wandering copper or medicine) aquarium if you feel the need to get some outside bacteria going.

    halo 3

If I still have to buy an xbox 360, i won't be playing it. There's nothing good on it...still (and no, it's racing games aren't that much better/different that the ps1's ole gt2.)

    Check out these guy's.

i've had a little red fromia myself for about 1.5 years now in my reef. he's totally safe to my reef, but every month or 2 half of an arm goes missing(i have a frogspawn & some mean anthelia which is probably the culprit), so i think he's more vunerable to my reef than they are to him.

I went to that "A Red Sea Aquarium" in shoreline last night and was much impressed. Everything is new, uber clean, with only a little construction left (it's a brand new store and really i'd wait another week to see it more complete, but at the same time seeing a store right at the beginning is...

ideas with a 30gallon long tank.

Zoa heaven & a brighty colored angler. Sprinkle with feather dusters or colt corals. (this is my plan for my next <30g)

    Endangered Fish

I agree with burning, bread them and cook at 350 for 15-17 minutes. Mmmm endangered animals!

    what can I grow

that tall of a tank + normal flourescents, I wouldn't do anything light intensive at all. If somehow you're able to actually get the purple coralline alage to grow on your rocks, then maybe the peach/tan hairy mushrooms. Stick with a couple of feather dusters or sponge that both need no light...

    140 Gallon Reef Project Begun

crushed coral will naturally lower ph to 7.7-7.8 after 90days in saltwater. if you're looking for a slightly better calcium leech + surface area, crushed oyster shell(the highest buffering substrate after 60-90days) only drops ph to 7.9, but i'd only do a tad, or you'll battle ph just for the...

What kind of blenny is this?

does he have a near unhinging mouth which opens up like this ( ) with bristles? Does he have any redish to him at all, like Exallias brevis. "leopard blennie" at the store i used to work, we got a lot of random/$20cheap blennies that could be described as white with dark markings or vice...

    light though water??

All the way to the bottom if you let it go. maybe 12"? i had dual 9s on a tank 14" tall, with the bulbs another 3-4 inches up for just plain jane freshie plants. didn't work so well. I've not ever seen any actual coral growth using dual 18w PC's on a 12" tall 2.5 gallon either. personally i...

    Need some eel advice

get hardcore and double up on plastic netting and zip ties. and it's not so much that they jump out, as they crawl out. if they can crawl out, they will, and they are strong enough to push thro flaps or flexible plastic you may have to block openings.
