Help Needed to pick up a tank!

Hey Everyone, This may sound kind of odd, but I need help loading a 180gallon glass tank. It's located East of Monroe, and I live in Bellingham. I've got the truck, but just need help loading it.. It has to be moved asap. Also if your up by Ferndale.. I could use help on this end as well...

Ideas of how to save money with energy efficient SPS systems..

Newby here... Is there any validity in using just fluorescent light and/or having greatly reduced MH usage? I noticed Garf claims they have been successful with it. The digital ballasts are much more efficient, I have another tank with the magnetic that sucks juice like crazy. As for water...

    My fun morning

I had a hermit crab crawl into my overflow once.. the water flowed directly onto the power distribution... fireworks! At the end of it, I lost a power strip, and had several gallons of water on the .. upstairs floor.. dripping into the living room.

Maroon clowns... I love to hate them.. and I hate to love them!

My Maroon is very aggressive, and has drawn blood as well. Now I just wear gloves because.. well it kind of hurts and I was having reflex reaction and scraping myself on other stuff when she was nailing me.. They are a great fish, with lots of personality, and she doesn't really go after the...

    problem

Love boiling water... Take a large syringe (feed store) boil up some water, and hit them with that, they die pretty instantly ;) My advice, remove the item that has them IMMEDIATELY those things go through your sump, invade your refugium etc, so having 0 is the goal.. I've got a mess myself...

    Buffing and resealing acrylic tank?

I used my orbital sander with 120 for bad scratches, then 200, then 400 a HELL of a lot quicker than hand and it works well, you'll replace pads a lot especially at 400. It leaves a haze, then use a buffing pad with rubbing compound on the orbital (any marine or fiberglass repair shop has the...

Good fans to use in my canopy?

My tank is in the living room as well, I find that when the lights are on we aren't usually doing much other than reading or looking at the tank, we watch TV or movies usually after the MH's shut down. I put in Coralvue 4" fans (2) in my 120 hood with 2 - 250w mh.

    Anenomes elimination ;)

Cookie... Go to the local feed store or a veterinarian with pictures of your tank..., they have all kinds of horse syringes, and don't think twice. You can just use the syringe, or there are also plastic needles, they are great for target feeding mysis as well... They use them to clean ears etc..

    Anenomes elimination ;)

So after doing a ton of research, and using aptasia x, joes juice etc. I stumbled across an amazing solution to eradicating majano and aptasia anenomes! I want to thank some of the people in the forums here as it is where I found the answer, herefishyfishy was one of the last ones commenting...

What is your favorite reef safe fish?

I had a yellow and purple tang years ago, I prefer the purple one... I had a hawkfish but it was eaten by my lionfish when it grew... do they eat shrimp or something? I've got a bonded pair of watchman goby and pistol in my other tank but I NEVER see them... and i've always wanted a mandarin!

What is your favorite reef safe fish?

Having lost my lionfish this week, my 120gallon tank seems empty. I have an aggressive black/white spotted damsel, and a maroon clown hosting an rbta. I don't want something that will create a lot of waste (been fighting nitrate problems for years with the big fish...), but I want something...

    12v DC Power Adapter question?

Depends on the transformer, read it, if it says 120/240 it should be fine. Otherwise go to a radio shack and get one.. where are you that you use 220?

    Blindness....

He grew up eating jumbomin, after I switched to reefing about a year and a half ago I went purely with silversides as the jumbomin was quite a mess, it always left the tank orange as even the waste was colored. He always ate well, and never had any symptoms, just the blindness several days...

    Blindness....

"Spike" took his last breath today, I righted him this morning, and he had labored breathing all day, moved him to a hospital tank, but he was to far gone. 8 Years of entertainment, on to a new generation of fish now... Now how do I dispose of a 15" lionfish with venemous spines...

    Blindness....

I found him this morning, pale, breathing hard, and upside down on the bottom of the tank. I've righted him, and pushed him into another section. I'm thinking of moving him to another tank... Thoughts? Two other fish are fine, a clown and a large black spotted damsel.

    Blindness....

The tank has been pretty stable for a couple of months, no changes. Had high temps a week or so ago but he was fine after that, and I didn't lose any corals. There is a rbta, and frogspawn but I can't see getting stung or anything. Haven't water changed in a while or checked params (2...

    Blindness....

I have a 15" lionfish I have had for around 8 years. He has always been active, and eats well. Hunts silversides and is very fast. In the last week he has gone completely blind, the eyes seem fine, no cloudiness, he just can't see. Feeding has been less than usual and I wonder if he was...

Seattle to hot 90º this week

Tooo HOT Ok, I have to admit I panicked a bit when it hit 85.3 last night and my lionfish was going ape with no lights on for hours.. This morning after a full night of cooling and fans still 83.9, so I chucked a block of ice in the sump, it needed fresh water anyway, albeit not ro/di. Temp...
