    The MyReef Saga

Next became the task of ripping the 24 foot stand apart to turn it into smaller stands. Here is an 8 foot section we were able to cut off the end and turn into a stand alone stand. The tank below it is a standard 125 gal which will be our sump for the tanks in here. Meanwhile the 6 foot FT...

    The MyReef Saga

So 2 days into having this tank in the new shop the landlord saw condensation in the windows and freaked out. I offered to get get an air exchanger, and dehumidifier... and it was a total no go. Long story short I had to get out. I was so deflated. I checked out other retail space and...

    The MyReef Saga

Included in my purchase from the LFS was a 6 foot frag tank with corals in it. Moving day has come so we drained it down into barrels and threw it in a back of a pickup and we were off. Here it is before I start re-plumbing it.

For those that don't know me, my name is Jared and I run a coin shop here in Colorado. I also run a little website propagating and selling live coral. I will be a sponsor here very soon. Anyway back to my story. A local LFS went out of business here a few weeks back and I got a call from the...

Six months into reef tank...greetings everyone!

Welcome aboard. As you can tell we'd all love to see pics. Don't be discouraged about the wet/dry aspect, many of us have run them in the past as it was the way to do it but as times have changed we have learned that there are better ways. Congrats on your system!

To RBTA or not to RBTA?

They will move, but once they get settled in it should stay put as long as it's happy. As stated above they can get large down the road, but that gives you a reason to upgrade bigger lol.

tank has'nt seen a water change in 4 years... and mushroom ID please

Tank look amazing good for all it's been through. I used a Octopus HOB skimmer for a while and it did ok for me back in the day. I much prefer sump skimmers though.

    Gary's Oceanic Illuminata 57 build

But you won't get that lovely decaying shrimp smell if you don't throw one in. It's true you don't really need one.

    Recipe for Oxypora "chalice" recovery?

Chalices are funny and can change drastically depending on lighting, but for most I run low in the tank or under somewhat shaded areas.

There's a new "tank" Sheriff in town - FLIPPER

    Hello Reefers

Well I bought a slew of tanks ranging from 20 to 125 gallons including a 6' frag tank full of coral. I own a business here in Colorado and the neighboring business just shut down at the end of Dec. I gave the landlord a call and decided to rent the shop. I'm going to fill it with coral.

    Hello Reefers

Well I had an insane day today. My LFS called me this morning telling me they are closing down and to get down ASAP if I wanted anything. I committed to about half the store.

    Gary's 55 gallon tank build

That's a standard AGA stand, nothing exciting but they do work fine. Have you considered building your own stand? You can make it exactly how you want.
