    Reef Frontiers - thank you!

Welcome, with that said, if you could snap a pic, it's easier for us to take a wild stab at the ID. If not be as descriptive as possible. There is a type of tubular worm that encrusts itself with substrate, normally harmless and beneficial to our tanks. If he got stung it sounds like a bristle...

Newbies guide to the nano reef

Let me ask a question since I've never been in your neck of the woods. Do you leave any windows open? Meaning could it be a foreign substance that existed as a powder that somehow got in the tank. Do your corals and other inverts look healthy? Do you have any red macro algae? Does the red appear...

Man, it would be a waste, Nick, if you didn't put some corals in that tank! I would give my right newt to have a tank that size....you got the lighting and everything for a reef, hell, I'll come out to help you set up the corals everytime you bought one. Don't let this go to waste....Mike.

Can Anyone Tell Me What These Are?

I'm gonna take a stab at it: 1. Maroon would be a macro algae. If it resembles a balloon, take them out using tweezers to get at the attachment. If they are plates, no harm. 2. The translucent white tube, probably a harmless sponge hitcher. 3. Without a clearer pic, it could be a feather duster...

    Ricordiea help!

Corallimorphs as mentioned above become mobile when it does not favor a location or uses this as a form of asexual reproduction. The original form of cloning if you will. This is seen less in the ric family but does happen.
