Erik - Will do. I have heard that Starfish is the best in the area, but i've only heard that from one person as they were coming up onto Alki after a good day of diving. Haven't heard much else though.

Does anybody know of any good diver certificate training courses in the Seattle area? We have one down the hill from us near Alki and have heard of another one called Starfish in Queen Anne, i think. Thanks!
Jeff
Very nice Kathy! I was nowhere near that at 2 1/2 months. I took things very slowly. DOB was 1/04 and I actually only still have 2 clowns in my tank. Just within the last 3 or 4 weeks, I have been adding corals and a rose bta.
My fiance is actually getting me... us.. diving lessons for my birthday next month. We've been interested for quite some time, and have just been waiting for the weather to get a little warmer!

Thanks! I don't know if I have a major infestation of bristleworms or not, but last night it was fun catching them with my fiance.
How are bristleworms good for your reef? And which ones are good? If I get a CBS or a Golden CBS, would they wipe out the entire bristleworm population...
I have been getting so many different asnwers whenever asking about coral banded shrimp. I hear that they are bad because they may nip at corals, but others that say that they are reef safe. I've also heard that they are a natural predator to bristleworms. I just recently picked off 10 that I...
I don't really have any friends into the hobby, except my fiance. But I wouldn't mind meeting more of you and learning as much as possible. I just need someone or someones to take me under their wing and teach me! I stil have a lot of questions, after only 6 months into marine, and I am so...
Thanks for the warm welcome Mike! I've already phoned one of your sponsors (Coral Beauty) that I never knew existed! I mentioned your website, and even had a conversation with Shelly that lasted like 20 minutes! I should find time to visit them this weekend.
I guess i shouldn't take my clam...
Thanks Nikki! Those links were very informative. I found a post by TDevil that would probably benefit anyone reading through this particular thread:
"on another note, clams, most clams only need to be fed until they are around 3-3.5 inches, i fed mine phyto untill then, i took it out of the...
Thanks for all of the advice! I just discovered Below Sea Level a couple of weeks ago. All those years around the U, and I never knew it was there! Of course, however, I didn't get into the aquarium hobby, until last July, when my fiance bought me a 10 gallon tank for my birthday!
Jeff
What would you suggest using to feed my corals? Currently I only have a frogspawn, brain coral, zoo's, star polyps, cabbage, xenias, green striped, red, and ricordea mushrooms. I have a rose BTA too.
Glad to be here! I've been looking for a good forum to go to that is actually local to me! I've been having some issues with some of the fish stores in my area, with them being too smug and arrogant, but recently found a couple that are quite nice! One of them, Indoor Reef, actually is almost...
The bottle technique sounds fairly easy and actually pretty ingenius! I think i will try it tonight.
As for DT's, I just started using it. I just got over my phosphate problem by switching to RO. Could the DT's really be leaching that much phosphate into the tank even though I'm using...
Hi all! New to the site, and am enjoying all the great posts and pics!
I'm fairly new to the marine hobby (6 months actually!) and I just got a 2 " maxima last weekend. As well, as DonW, I would like to know what the best way to raise a baby clam. I have been spot feeding DT's every day...
