    113 Gallon Cube (like)

Just my .02 :) I would go for the DE instead of the moguls - I have a mogul retrofit on my little tank (where your anemone is) and I've had the bulb mysteriously bust once, and I always feel like I might break it when I'm installing it since it is sooo big... the DE bulbs in my main tank are...

    Something eating torch. PICTURES!

I don't think you can trap them, besides just using your torch as bait and waiting it out, watching with a flashlight.. They have sticky feet and can go anywhere, like a starfish. It seems hard to believe that you have one and haven't seen it though, mine are always out when the lights are on...

    Something eating torch. PICTURES!

Looks like the damage an urchin would do - at least when I had naughty urchins thats what it looked like... Do you have any?

What kind of sand doesnt blow around much?

I just drop some small/medium sized pieces of LR in the areas where my sandbed was getting blown away all the way down to the glass.. Once all the sand has stopped shifting, it seems pretty stable where it wants to pile up... Of course then you have deeper pockets to worry about buildup :)

    Camera Phone Photo Test :)

Haha - well at least the blurry pics dont show any of the latent cyano I've got still hanging around in spots ... I noticed my fish are camera hogs though, every one of them came out for the camera

So - I got a new camera phone, and since I have to this date been too cheap to buy an SLR, I'll continue to torture ya all with my awesome 2 MP camera phone shots :) What do you think? I don't think its taking too bad of photos for what its worth

Want To Hear A Hello From Locals

P.S. I believe the monthly meetings at Barbies are for the Inland NW Aquatic Society (or something along that line) - they do saltwater and freshwater, I haven't been to one in a while, but the 1st Wed of the month at 7 sounds right.

    new guppy

Yeah - we are lazy - but I do recommend you go to the reef society meeting tonight if you have a chance. Seeing someone else's setup is great for getting ideas on what to do!

Red stuff What is this ????

The red algae in your tank looks like red bubble algae to me. About the only way I have found to get rid of it is to pull the rock out and scrub it down with a stiff brush... Don't want to do that in the tank or you will spread spores, also rinse very well after you brush to get as many spores...

    green water

As I was reading your post this statement really lit the flickering lightbulb in my brain... "about 50# of my sand was used. a friend scooped it out of her tank before she converted to cichlids. if I had it to do again, I would NOT use old sand." Although not a direct correlation, I've...

Whats the best way to convert from Tap water to r/o water??

PS - When I switched to R/O from tap after using it in my tank for about a year and a half (and at the top of a severe cyano bloom), it took about 6 months for the algae to finally appear to be "not apparent". Needless to say, it will take time :) Good luck!

    Zoos or Polys? ID help.

Okay - so I took a photo of my flower for reference - I'm thinking the bumps are similar, yet not as prominent.

    Zoos or Polys? ID help.

they kinda look like my flower anemone - and considering the size, maybe - have you tried feeding them?

How to deal with Power Outages...

I regularly use just an old car battery and an inverter - while it is not automatic and you need to switch it over - it works - Of course, all I plug in is my return pump to keep oxygen and water circulating - no lights or anything - lights arent really needed. Sometimes th clouds come out in...

saddleback clown hosting on brain coral

I've been told that posting a picture of a clown hosting in an anemone on the tank wall works - I haven't tried it - but it sounds cute :)

    Calurpa

Just my two cents - I have a tank with the grape calupera in the tank - I just groom it out occasionally. No big deal, if you have a sump you will have to groom that too.. But anyhow - I put in the same rabbitfish you have - and mine ate it all, the tank was bare!! It took him a few days to...
