I really doubt it is 3/4" glass, I'm betting 3/8" maybe 1/2" thick!
Consider if it ever had copper in it as it looks like a FW tank, also you may need to re-seam it, but still may be a good deal for the price! I'm run a 250W MH dead center, just pick your corals properly & you'll be fine, placement is always key to successful lighting for corals.

Just my .02 :) I would go for the DE instead of the moguls - I have a mogul retrofit on my little tank (where your anemone is) and I've had the bulb mysteriously bust once, and I always feel like I might break it when I'm installing it since it is sooo big... the DE bulbs in my main tank are easier to install, and I have yet to have one explode :D

Well, I finally got this tank home, after it sat in my motel room since being purchased...lol. It's actually 1/2" glass. It'll sit for awhile while I plan everything out. I know I want to get it drilled for a CL and for overflows and returns. Not sure where to locate holes, how many or what size yet....lol. I also haven't figured out if I'll go with 250 or 400 MH. I'm leaning towards 250 and keeping the high light demanding corals higher in the tank. Now, in order to use any supplemental actinics, I'll need to build a canopy I think. So now I've got that to think about as well. Wow, I've got a lot of planning to do...lol.

According to Randy Holmes Farley, silicone seams don't absorb copper like most people think. You just have to make sure there is none on the glass.

I don't know if this tank is tempered or not. I know that if it is, it's most likely the bottom and not the sides. I'm only wanting to drill the back. However, I'd like to be totally sure if the back is tempered or not. I've read a few things about using polarized sunglasses to determine if the glass is tempered or not. Anyone know any more about this technique??

Yeah its hard to tell weather if the glass is tempered or not. I remembered one time I call Sunset Glass in Bellvue to ask them if there is a way that you can tell if the glass is tempered or not and they told me no.
