    ich in the rocks

Make sure as I said in my first post that the rock has not been exposed to any medication or copper. This can sometimes happen if people try to medicate a display tank because they don't want to hassle with quarantine. You can buy fish now BUT they should go into a QUARANTINE TANK not your...

    ich in the rocks

All live rock has been exposed to ich as it comes from the ocean. 6 weeks in quarantine "with out any fish" will take care it. If the person you are purchasing it from used copper in the tank with the live rock you should pass on it.

    Idol Poop

I have a Naso that always goes into the back corner to pinch one off. This has not always been the case however, I believe this started because my Hippo tang is obsessed with eating anything that comes out of another fishes butt and the Naso has just learned how to avoid the harassment. From...

Water changes! Just kidding..... I have used seachem phosgaurd. Seemed to work OK it takes allot if you have a large tank.

Never cleaned mine. Not going to, lots of critters and life stuck in there though.

    Best heater.

Visa Therm and Ebo Jagger have both performed well for me. I think the key is using multiple heaters in a system. For example: if you need 500 watts to heat your system I think two 250 watt heaters is a safer way to go....if one fails the other one will keep the tank from getting dangerously...

    Clown trigger

A Clown Trigger will always be a crap shoot. Can be fine for years and just snap one day. Still a cool fish and a "fairly" safe risk in your 300 gallon. Keep him feed well....Fat and happy and the odds will be in your favor I believe. Good Luck

    my dang tang

As RONJ stated stress is most likely the cause of color stability. You said you have the fish in hypo now, at what SG? With a lower SG its important to keep an eye on PH because the water may not have sufficient buffer to keep the PH up. This will add to the stress factor as well. Let us know SG...

    how to clean acrylic tank.....

Scooterman is right. Novus is an excellent product, I use it with a micro fiber cloth. Be very careful with the magnets, they work great but the smallest piece of coral sand on the inside magnet will scratch your acrylic and make you say really bad words. Hey NC2WA I have read that rubbing...

    what kind of water

RODI stands for "Reverse Osmosis De-Ionized" water purification system. This is a great water filter system and will prevent many pitfalls down the road such as algae problems. However, I see you live in the Seattle area and our water here has much less dissolved solids than most of the country...

    mixing the dams

Hey runtowin777 WELCOME to RF! Don't take this wrong....Glad you are here and asking questions. Most people don't until they kill enough fish that it effects their pocket book! It is somewhat crewel to cycle a tank with Damsels. However, as 91YOTA stated they will repay the favor when you try...

    Good Tang

I have a Naso, Yellow and a Blue "Hippo" that have been happy for over three years now. Most any Tang wont be as mellow as your Naso but many will get along if you have room and introduce them in proper order.
