I just wanted to know what you guys do to pamper and care for your clams.

I know clams depend on focused lighting...mine sits below my MH.

I dont force mine to sit where he doesnt want to...I placed him at a high point below my MH he chose to move to the bottom on the sand...and im leaving him there unless he seems like hes not happy. But he is happy.

I just want some advise on basic care...what to keep an eye on (besides water chemistry DOn and Boomer have educated me well yesterday).

I'd do a search because there is a wealth of information on Clams and their care both on this forum and others.

Im sorry I am skimming today....i normally thoroughly search and read before I ask questions.

Shall I just delete this post and how do i?

have you read the clam workshop ? it's a very good one dood :)

Barry N. has a link that actually had me go out and get a clam after reading about them^^

I know the link says acclimate them to your lighting before placing them up high....but what if your clam is happy at the sand level of the tank under the MH already? I dont want to place him really high up by the MH if hes already happy you know. Either high up or down below hes in a nice viewable area.

Also now after seeing the link Sponge....I do have more specific questions.

I have Swimmer Crab....Sally Light foot Crab...2 peppermint shrimp and 1 cleaner shrimp.

Are these Clam safe???

i'm not sure dood, but i don't think pepperment shrimps bother clams.

They like it allot if you rub them just right!

you mean don't show them a pot and butter :p  .
