*need help ASAP*, questions about global warming on ocean

Before putting too much stock in the data presented in the link posted above "http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/ice_ages.html" do a web search on the author, Monte Hieb.

    LED Question

Right, in this instance you can only overpower the circuit by applying more than 12V so it will be fine.

    LED Question

At face value the replacement you list would work just fine as the 600 mA rating just means that it is capable supplying power to more devices (like LEDs) than the 400 mA supply. As an example if each LED in the fixture needed 100 mA (LEDs usually require much less than that so just an example)...

Ocean coral reefs gone in 40 years??

Now that is one of the funniest posts I've seen in quite a while. Ignorance is bliss... unless you work yourself into a frenzy trying to maintain it.

    Clamtastrophe

I am experiencing the same problem. Lost all my clams, just have a dersa left that is not showing any symptoms. I bought some clams from Clams Direct about a month ago and after a couple of weeks they started dying and then a few weeks later the others (been in the tank for years) started...

    Quarantine supplies and acclimation procedures

My thought was to have the feed from the sump (small pump) above the waterline of the QT so back siphon is not possible, which would eliminate the need for a UV there. The drain back into the sump would then have the UV and could be slow flow (small supply pump) for a high dwell time. Could...

    Quarantine supplies and acclimation procedures

Hi Steve, Is there any type of filter (UV, etc...) that could be incorporated into the return flow of a "theoretical quarantine tank" that is connected (supplied from) the main system that would keep the pathogens/parasites from entering the main? Tom

    Backup power

Hey Colleen if you haven't left yet, I have an extra generator you can borrow if you want to come pick it up in Snohomish area. It's an older one that's not the most reliable but it still works. 5.5KW Tom

    Heater/Electrical Problems

Ok I didn't mean to say useless, obviously a GFCI will still function without a separate ground probe in the tank if something else provides a path to ground. If you are that path you will receive the shock, until it trips; which should be in the milliseconds. In my opinion using a ground...

    Heater/Electrical Problems

Yes it’s pretty much useless or worse as it’s very vague and misleading. I agree that adding a ground probe will not in most cases reduce your risk of shock without a GFCI. The probe would have to be real close to the short to trip a breaker. However I believe that the risk of shock to a...

    Heater/Electrical Problems

Paul is correct. The example given with the generator is questionable at best. The only way the GFCI wouldn’t trip (or function at all in his scenario) is if the neutral side of the generator was connected to ground on the output side of the GFCI. A GFCI compares the current going out to...

    Canaries

Anyone interested in Canaries? I've got a breeding pair of Red Factor canaries and two of their offspring (this spring's hatch) available. The pair with cage is $150 and the offspring are $75 with cage or $50 without. Both offspring are singing some but not sure if they're males yet or not. Tom

    Suction from closed loop

If you want to make the original holes larger cut a 1.5" hole in a scrap piece of acrylic, take the inner circle that you're left with and superglue it (superimposed) over the 3/4" hole in the tank. It then works as a great guide for drilling out the new larger hole. Tom
