    they usually lay there eggs on the clam, but i wouldn't rule out them laying them elsewhere close by. depending on the species of pyram they may also feed on other mollusc's so keep an eye on your snails also. the next time you clean the clam scoop out the sand from under the clam and through it...

    we have a few from another batch that are smaller. the last 2 hatches didnt go so well, one we collected 300 larva and the next morning they were all dead and then the next the eggs hatched a day early:confused: but we are expecting another hatch Wed. night

    mantis shrimp get a bad rep when they really shouldn't. I've had one in our 180 for years. all it does is hunt stomatellas(sp.)at night. hopefully Curt will chime in with more info
