    FedEx Rant

I've had issues with them at times. I received a notice on my front door that delivery had been attempted, and luckily I read on a little more, and found out that this was their third attempt (but my first notice). Anyway, it was after 5:00 PM, the package was back at the shipping office...

Anyone plumbed their tank into the basement thru a joist?

Ya, I was wondering about that...how to cleanly cut out part of the bottom of the stand to get to the carpet, and then cut out the carpet/pad with a utility knife, and then use a hole saw to get thru the plywood. Oh ya, and move my current plumbing out of the way so I can remove my...

Anyone plumbed their tank into the basement thru a joist?

Excellent, I'll look at that as well as the pad under the carpet.

Anyone plumbed their tank into the basement thru a joist?

Thanks everyone, my plans have changed, b/c my wife doesn't care about the carpet under the tank, so I'll be drilling directly into the floor from the inside/bottom of my cabinet into the sub-flooring...so much easier! Thanks again everyone for your advice! -David

Anyone plumbed their tank into the basement thru a joist?

Thanks guys! I'm wondering if the frostner bit has an extension so I can drill 12 inches down into the sub-floor. I'll try and pm Mattseattle and slickdonkey as well.

Anyone plumbed their tank into the basement thru a joist?

I'm planning on relocating my sump on the first floor to the garage on the same floor, and I need some advice on how to run the plumbing into the sub-floor. I plan on running both 1.5" overflows into either a 1.5" or 2" tee so they form one pipe which would then go into the wall behind the...

    Sump in Garage questions

Not to hijack the conversation, but to ask an additional plumbing question to the garage. If you run your tank overflow water to an external source like a sump in a garage from your living rm. via gravity from overflows, can you run your plumbing from the top of your tank (overflow) to below...

    hardwood floors killed almost everything

fwiw - you've saved my fishes and coral, b/c we're planning on doing are hardwoods next year. I also saw someone else post something last week or week before about what to do (if anything) to a tank if redoing hardwoods. Maybe someone else who's had it done while maintaining a reef tank can...

    Cabinetry pics

Here's a couple shots of my tank from last year, just before I started my new set up of a 150 gal tall. I hope the pics come thru. I didn't build it, I found someone in Woodinville to do the tank, stand and canopy for me, but you can see some of the detail work for ideas.

    Sequence Dart for closed loop

If fish look good, that's the most important thing. To bad you had to go thru that, you must of been pulling your hair out:cry:

    Sequence Dart for closed loop

Ron, I would completely get rid of this gunk out of your system and pump. It's made for sealing pipes not pvc. Then, run carbon and polyfilter just in case there's polutants remaining, and change out your filter sock, and possibley a water change. What you're looking for is silicone aquarium...

    adjustable baffles/bubbletrap

I looked over that article before I started my sump last year. The problem I had was finding the EPDM molding it talks about. I gave up after looking at several different molding pieces from Home Depot and Lowes. I even tried McClendons which tends to keep more hard to find items, but they...

    Sequence Dart for closed loop

You might still get it on Friday, but ya...that might suck. It would be nice to be able to get these locally in times like these.

    Sequence Dart for closed loop

Ron, I did the exact same thing when I ordered them! So, do what I forgot to do when I got this close to being done. Take a deep breath...in....out...in...out you're almost there. Sometimes the anticipation becomes so great that we forget to organize our thoughts...which leads to additional...
