The Clear blue is the older ones, solid is the new! I would call them & explain your problem, I'm sure they will send you a new Volute, which would remedy your leaking issues due to bad threading!

i just hate to have to take the pump apart...it will be a ton of trouble..i have it pinned in place...i will also have to take off several plumbing parts...it will suck....it is still leaking, but in very small amounts...i will probably give them a call tomorrow

well my l threaded loc-line parts should be here today, but i just realized that i don't have enough nozzles!!!!!!!!!!! i don't know what i was thinking!! this will be my 3rd order in 2 weeks from the same place!!! i think this is it though..i am going to go ahead and install the 3 that i can today, and when the pack of nozzles gets here on Thursday?, i will install the last 2 loc-lines!!!

i talked to Reeflo a litle while ago...the tech told me to take the teflon off and get some silicone glue..she said it would seal it, but it wouldn't be permenant...i talked to an associate at Lowes..they don't have anything called silicone glue...i ended up getting "Pipe Sealant with Teflon added...it is a thick grease-like substance...it ended up blowing this crap all in my tank(it did stop the leaking, so far)..i got most of it into the overflows and in my filtersocks.....will this hurt any of my animals or corals????????????

Reeflo wouldn't replace the Volute?
That cure seems fishy, who did you speak to, they should warranty that, I think the guys name is Kevin or Eric but not sure.

I don’t know but I sure would suggest running some fresh carbon.

i did that!!! i had just put some carbon in my Phosban Reactor 2 days before!!!! the film seems to have cleared up and i haven't seen any more chuncks of it floating around

Ron, I would completely get rid of this gunk out of your system and pump. It's made for sealing pipes not pvc. Then, run carbon and polyfilter just in case there's polutants remaining, and change out your filter sock, and possibley a water change.

What you're looking for is silicone aquarium sealant, and I'm surprised they didn't understand what you were asking for, b/c they carry it. I would buy and keep some on hand always. You can also try Walmart, Ace or McCLendons hardware if you have one close by.

Here's a link to walmart's aquarium sealant, so you know what it looks like:

If fish look good, that's the most important thing. To bad you had to go thru that, you must of been pulling your hair out:cry:

well, i have been worried about the "grease-like" gunk that i used on the threads...i called Reeflo again to find out where i could find "Silicone Glue"...they told me that they would have a tech call me later...after waiting until about 4pm, i wanted to get some before the plumbing stores closed..i went to 4 plumbing stores today and not one of them had ever heard of "Silicone Glue"...when i called Reeflo back, the tech told me that it was called GE Silicone and i could get it at Home Depot:mad: ...i was like, "are you kidding me"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i tried all this bulls#$@# on my pipes , and you meant just regular silicone???? i specifically asked her what the stuff was called..she said it would be called Silicone Glue, not Silicone...this plumbing has been the most ridiculous garbage i have ever worked with...i shouldn't have to be putting silicone all around my brand new pump fittings!!!! i had to clean off all the grease crap, and now i have to wait 24hrs for the silicone to cure
