    Hang On Refugium

    There is an area in the sump not being used, I would put a small fuge there and have it run into the sump area. I have a Elos tank 34 gallon, from day one the stand always made me nervous, I did not want to add any extra weight to the tank.

    Hi, I just purchased a hang on refugium, can I put this in the sump instead of hanging on the back of the tank? Will it provided the same benefits in the sump as hanging on the back of the tank?

    Milwaukee digital read thingy, which I have only had less than a year. I did a tank cleaning this morning and still way too high. I need to make fresh water and then I will give it a try.

    Do you keep a QT up and running all the time? If you don't buy fish frequently, do you take down the QT and only put into use when you purchase a new fish? Do you keep any meds in the tank at all times to keep new fish free of parasites?

    How do u setup a QT tank? Doesn't the tank have to cycle? I don't have one setup and to let the tank cycle would not help the fish now. I am confused.

    Well now I feel like the bad parent. I don't have a qt tank, not sure I have the funds to start one but what are the basic needed for one? All fish come out, what about shrimps, feather dust etc

    Well one of my fish has ick. I read so many different things. Lower the salinity, don't lower the salinity. Raise temp, don't raise temp. Very frustrating all the different opinions on what works and what doesn't work. So I was wondering about garlic xtreme. Thanks

    Well, Don was correct! I found the imbalance in the sump, 1: I was cleaning every two weeks, 2: every time I would clean the tank I would forget the filter sock that the skimmer lets out into, it was so thick with green gunk... took forever to clean it, within days the hair algae was 99% gone...

    I just ordered a Tiger Jaw fish. I have a Elos tank w/ aqua top lighting canopy, the cover pretty much covers the tank except for 4 half moon shapes on either side of the top, two in front and two in back. Any suggestions on how to cover these opening so the fish can not jump to his death...
