    Leveling a 300 gallon tub

You might have better results with wolmanized wood, unless you know a clever woman. ;)

Fungia-how much and how often to feed?

I picked up three tiny frags of Fungia last summer. I don't target feed them at all, although I feed my tank a lot compared to most people here. All three seem to be doing well.

    How Do You Eliminate Aiptasia?

I had good luck with peppermint shrimp several years ago. They cleared out a bad infestation in a few days. Now I have aiptasia again. I have used kalk past and have just tried Stop Aiptasia. The problem with these methods (and boiling water, Joe's Juice, etc.) is you only kill the ones you see.

    Shrimp in Fuge?

I had some peppermint shrimp that ate amphipods. I don't have any experience with pistol shrimp.

    Ballast?

The most important function is the current limiting. Flourescent and MH bulbs operate by creating an electrical discharge through an ionized gas. Electrically, this looks like a short circuit. If you were able to get a bulb to fire without a ballast, you would quickly blow a fuse or melt...

Need your opinions on my fish choice

If you add a mandarin to the refugium, it won't be a refugium anymore. The mandarin will clear it out of small organisms and then probably starve, especially since the six-line will be clearing out the main tank.

    pc lights

A workhorse 5 can run one 96w PC. The Yellow wire goes to one side and 3 red wires go to the other side (one red is capped off). See www.fulham.com you can put in the lamp type and wattage on the home page and get a wiring diagram.

Where do you get Mrs Wages Lime?

There have been several threads on this lately, and the short answer is that none of the local stores seem to carry it anymore. Your best bet is to go in with a few other people and order a case online (to spread out the shipping costs).

OT: Lack of humidity due to heater

Time to get another aquarium for that room. That should provide plenty of humidity.

What to get for 1st SPS

I would recommend Montipora caps for a starter sps. They seem to tolerate a fairly wide range of lighting and flow conditions. Also the green slimer acropora seems pretty tough. These should be available from other reefers, but I don't know how common they are around Walla Walla.

How to eradicate the softy eating nudis'

I would try the Iodine dip. If that doesn't work, I can give you a sample of levamisole to try. This is a treatment for montipora eating nudibranchs. Morgan, The problem with most nudibranchs is that they are obligate feeders and can only survive on a single food source. The choice is...

    Monti Bleaching...Help!!!

It sounds like the nudibranchs to me - healthy orange tissue and white where the tissue has been removed down to the skeleton. Check this thread for some pictures: http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11798 Do a search on "montipora eating" for more info.

    Monti Bleaching...Help!!!

Is it fading all over or is it starting to turn white in patches? If the latter it may be infected with montipora eating nudibranchs. These are very tiny and hard to see, but if it is a possibility, don't put it in your display tank!

Can someone please ID this coral

I've seen something like this when the skeleton gets broken for some reason. The broken piece falls away and stretches out the fleshy part until it separates. If just the flesh is "dripping" off of the colony, I would also guess that it was some sort of asexual reproduction. Does the colony...

Can someone please ID this coral

It looks a little too fleshy to be a Montipora. It looks like some kind of Echinophyllia to me.
