    Water changes for water chemistry

I am not that high tech! My ATO is a marker on the side of my refugium and a pitcher of water. :)

haha its fine, I would rather learn and not speak than speak and not ask the right questions.

    Water changes for water chemistry

I feed 1/2 of a cube of mysis shrimp daily. My refuguim is full of algae, and I do a 10% wc weekly. Lace rock is known to leech phosphates. BRA also suggested that this is probably what it is. What else could it be?

    Water changes for water chemistry

That would be awesome :) I do plan on getting one acan and probably a 2nd chalice, hopefully that won't be too much of a load.

    Water changes for water chemistry

Once I know where my parameters are atm I guess I will have a better idea of what I need to start dosing. (darn it, i was going to buy an acan this weekend too!)

    Water changes for water chemistry

None of my corals are more than "frags" atm, my chalice is the biggest and it is only about 2" across. I just don't want things to get away from me. :) Coraline algae (purple and red) is starting to grow, but there is not a huge amt of it yet. Now that my phosphates are under control I...

    Water changes for water chemistry

wow, I just went to BRA and test kits are expensive... 1 calcium test kit is almost $40! but I need Calcium, Alk, and PH right?

    Water changes for water chemistry

Nope, my phosphates were above .75 ppm. I have some lace rock... but it has coral glued all over it so I want to keep it. What chemical should I get for dosing calcium?

    Water changes for water chemistry

So far I have not noticed any problems in my reef. I keep approximately 10 kinds of zoas/palys, a chalice, some mushrooms, an anemone, a torch, and an m. Setosa. I have a 75 gallon DT with a 55 gallon refugium, total water is probably in the area of 100 gallons after you account for rocks and...

    Vinegar solution for GHA

It seems to have worked. I ran them in pure vinegar for about 18 hours, then scrubbed with a brush and they are clean! Then I tested my phosphates and saw that it was at almost 1 ppm... So I bought a phosphate 150 today and hopefully my gha problem will be reduced. :)

    Vinegar solution for GHA

Yes powerheads, but not the standard box with two holes, they are "fans" one is a koralia, i forget the other one.

    Vinegar solution for GHA

I had some GHA on one of my fans so I put it in a bucket with a 50/50 water/vinegar solution last night and let it run. The algae is still green today. Is there a better way to do this? The fan is particularly difficult to take apart, so letting it run in a solution is preferable.

    Dream Tank giveaway?

I would like the tank, but I would pefer a 120x20x20 tank if I could choose my own dimensions.

    Bleaching GBTA

it is still firmly attached to the rock, and spread out, just no tentacles... :-\

    Bleaching GBTA

Ah, some of those questions have been answered, but I will try to answer the rest. my setup has been running since last march, ammonia/nitrates/nitrites were 0 at last measurement, the others I am unsure of. The other nem drifted into a powerhead and I removed the pieces and did a 20% WC. I...

Well, it spit out a digested crab... :-\

    Bleaching GBTA

I have not tested it recently no. I have to get my water tested at BRA. Last time I had it tested(februaryish) all parameters were good. I do 10-20% WC every week. My lighting is 6x54w t5 lights on a standard 75g tank. I have had the RBTA for nearly a year, and it has never done anything...

    Bleaching GBTA

Oh, and my mini maxi is the same as it has always been... no movement, spread out beautifully (red and green) facing the top back corner of the tank where I cannot see it... But it is healthy!

    Bleaching GBTA

Well, the anemone finally died a few weeks ago. I got a new one last week from Denny's in Kirkland. It was attached to a rock within half an hour and was established in what appears to be the "spot" by the next day! HOWEVER! If it isn't one anemone it is another one... my RBTA looks like...
