    Clownfish help

That sounds correct. The fish are almost the same size. I'd say one is 10-20% larger than the other, which isnt much for their size. Should I most likely trade one away and wait a month? They one that I've had for 3-4 weeks hasn't grown at all. I assume thats because it hasn't assumed a...

    Clownfish help

I just bought my second percula clownfish today. Unfortunately, after acclimating and spending some time in a breeder cage inside the tank the two clowns started to fight pretty badly. I ended up having to split them up and put one back in the isolation net/cage. Does anyone have good...

The question I forgot to ask

I would think that chlorine kills if it does anything. Therefore, I would guess that some of his bacteria in his tank would die off and no longer participate in the nitrogen cycle. Therefore he could get a spike here and there when adding too much chlorinated water... What do others think...

What about a strobe light and disco ball? I saw that the fish enjoyed it on "A Shark's Tale" so it must be true!

    Elmo's 26 Gallon Tank

Is the sump really what I think it is? If it is, mega props! We should all use cheap trashcans!

    New Skimmer

So what exactly is the wet neck? Does it run water down around the neck (inner tube) of the skimmer surrounding the column of bubbles? Therefore it keeps crude from accumulating on the next. Therefore I'd have cleaner fingers when cleaning my collection cup? Thats a sweet idea.

How do people get warm water to hook up to their RO/DI unit? I just have a water flow valve on my cold water. I dont know if there is anything to get both hot and cold... Unfortunately I dont have a manual... I think I should have bought one new since I have to replace $100 in hardware when...

    RO/DI Question

I bought a 75 gpd RO/DI unit from genghis and its dripping very slowly. Im planning on replacing all the filters, but what are people's opinions on the membrane? I have a feeling its old, but what impact does that have on the rest of the filtration? Is the RO membrane the most likely reason...

Brown crap on glass and sand

Oh yea, I also heard that getting some macro algae in your fuge/sump will remove some of the nutrients from the water that that type of algae feeds on. I have some chaetomaphora which is mega easy to deal with. I bought a 10 gallon tank and set up small pump from the sump into the 10 gal and...

Brown crap on glass and sand

This might just be brown hairy algae. I had it too. Get a dozen turbo snails. They love the stuff. Sounds about the time when I had a bloom. The better lighting will help nicer looking algae grow, like coraline as long as you have a high enough calcium level...
