    Anemone Bleaching ?

Welcome to RF Tantricreef!! Very interested in how this propagation technique works out. I'm not about to take a knife to my anemone, but my friend may urge me to do so if this works out well. Also, I saw PaulB post either here or on RC that more than once a week is a bit much as most of the...

    Is my acro frag doomed?

Cool, I'd hate to explain to Paul (fragman) what happened to the beautiful frag I got from him.

    Is my acro frag doomed?

While trying to get my evil fish out of the tank, I accidentally dislodged my tri-color acro, and it fell right into my BTA.... Its been 2 weeks, have not noticed any tissue loss, and the polyp extension is still good. Hopefully, nothing will happen, but does anyone know how long it takes...

    snails and algea

My cowrie eats, or rather, makes a mess of the caulerpa. But then again, he seems to eat just about anything. I am not sure if that's a desirable thing for snails to eat macro algae like caulerpa, since all he does is bite off a branch, which then floats around and attaches elsewhere in the tank.

    Update on the Nano

Very cool. I am about to hang the same MH above my 15 gal. I was thinking of installing a shelf in kitchen to do the same. You didn't by chance purchase this from John in Kirkland ( where I got mine, he had 1 left)?

    live crab anyone?

I used to see millions of these sawagani crabs ( freshwater crabs ) make spawning trips down to the ocean from the hills in the rain. It sucks to have to drive thru these guys, and one time, my wife had a trail of these guys going thru her house. I enjoy sushi and sashimi but I'd rather deep...

    Would love to join PSAS

Hello, I first inquired about joining PSAS in June but was told to wait since Annual memberships resets in Sept. I have not been able to attend the weekend meetings due to my work schedule being changed, but heard there was a way to send payment to get membership. Is this still the case, if...

Treated for red bugs last night

I bought a frag that had red bugs, but all I have done was dip them in Iodine for 20 minutes. The bugs fell off within 5 minutes, but left them in there for additional 15 to hopefully kill the eggs. I used around 15 - 20 drops of Lugol's Iodine in about 1/2 gallon of water, do you guys...

    What do you do?

I used to be a snow bum, dropped out of school to go full time at it ( was a bio oceanography major), working at REI and then managing a small skate/snowboard shop called "Dusty's". They still have 2 shops in eastern WA. I did odds and ends, mostly dealing with pc hardware repairs, until I...

    Interesting article

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060816/ap_on_sc/coral_babies Wouldn't it be easier to place aqua cultured frags in the wild? Or mortality rates are too high for that.

    Green water Problem

What triggers them to go sexual? I read somewhere that size has something to do with it, where people say keeping them trimmed down helps to prevent this, but I am not sure how that's possible ( what's the exact mechanism that triggers this...). If that is the case, at what length should you trim?
