I'd also love to join PSAS, but the email addy from the website is not accepting any more emails, not sure if its full or what. I sent PM but was unsure if it was the right person for this. Please provide some info if you are still accepting members. Thanks!!

    Refugium Alternatives.

This is a bit off the topic somewhat, but I was toying with the idea of exposing LR by reducing the water in the tank by 1/3rd and planting a mangrove near the exposed rock. Searched for this topic on a couple reef forums and seems this has been done, but not sure what the long term effects...

    Worm ID requested.

I'll try and get some pics and maybe a short video of these worms after I wrap up my work week (I get home after the sun is up and they have long retreated to their burrows by that time).

    Worm ID requested.

Yeah, I did some searching on google and found others that also have observed these worms. I also checked in a book I had regarding Marine invertebrates ( its an old book I bought a decade ago ) and came to the conclusion that these are spinoid worms, although not sure on exact species...

    Rockwork sticking out of water?

I know its been quite a while, but I was wondering if you had any pics available of your tank. Was thinking of trying the same thing and came across your post in my search.

    Worm ID requested.

I did check the gallery, but I was unable to find anything that resembles what I see in my tank. It could be Capitellidae, if that worm spends most of its time burrowing into LR. I'll try and take a pic once I get home, but I work graves, and they usually have already retreated into the LR...

    Worm ID requested.

After reading the worm ID thread, I'm not sure what my worms are.(http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15867) I had always thought from some light reading on the net that the little worms that come out at night from my LR were peanut worms feeding. They are translucent and...

    Acclimation steps for dry-shipped Xenia

Instead of double bagging with water and heat pack, its double bagged in wet paper towels w/heat pack.

Glad to know, thanks for info. BTW Paul, its not my intention to hi-jack your post, my bad. Just wanted to tag along since I had similar setup and question.

    Acclimation steps for dry-shipped Xenia

I have read somewhere that many people have had success with dry-shipped Xenias. But for acclimation, it seemed like some people say that temperature is the only thing they need to acclimate to, when shipped dry. The argument was that its better to get in water asap rather than slowly...

    Refugium Alternatives.

Yeah, I've been told I dont really need one. But I would like to get some macro algae to compete with the micro algae, and wanted some place for the pods to multiply. I know I'm breaking a cardinal rule by using distilled water/tap water ( I try and buy ro/di water from LFS) but I'm gonna...

    Refugium Alternatives.

I also have the similar problems with my 20 gal high tank. I'd like to add a HOB refugium as well, but saw them going for ~120 at LFS, and not sure if I have space with a remora skimmer as well. I also looked at in-tank refugiums but worried they would end up blocking light or end up looking...
