    free acrylic sheets

gas hit 2.79/g in post falls! Looks like Pedro will be picking up the sheets. I still didnt measure but there is way more acrylic than anyone needs in a single session, so Pedro, I think you will find a use :) I took a pic and outlined the sheets, crappy pic, but there is a salt bucket in...

    free acrylic sheets

Hey all, long time no talk! I wanted to drop a line and mention I am getting rid of some huge acrylic sheets, one is just under 1/4" thick, the other looks about 1/8". One sheet is roughly 7ft x 3.5 ft, the other is smaller than that. I will get some measurements today, but you will definitely...

    Oceanic Salt??

I have used Oceanic since day 1 and can confirm that keeping alk up has been an issue since the first coral was added. I dose kalk daily in an effort to keep up with the low alk of Oceanic. CA and Mg are always very high with Oceanic, also usually when one is so is the other :P

    baffle blow out

These are all very awesome ideas. I have thought about different glue, but I think the problem comes from letting the chamber run dry, and 12 gal of water was pushing on the weak glue coverage. I have though about no baffles either, but my chaeto would get sucked right into my pump and give me...

    baffle blow out

24 hours oh crap. I'm kind of scared to let it run without a sump for that long. I would need to be prepared for temp, flow, and nitrates if something bad happened, I think i could handle that. As far as glass vs acrylic, the acrylic+silicone -did- last me almost a whole year. Glass would...

    baffle blow out

Ah crap. I guess its right around the year mark when ill informed decisions come back to haunt you.... I have a glass sump and I used some acrylic pieces and a whole lot of sealant to baffle the sump off. the first 2 baffles are doing great, there isn't all that much water pressure pushing on...

    New SCWD on the market

nice. looks like they flipped the door assembly around, added the screw on clean out cap, and made the outputs wider. Thats just about everything the scwd modding community has done to the old version. too bad they doubled the price

What kind of pump do folks use with their ATO

Mark, I actually use a needle valve to drip 1 drop per second 24 hours a day as needed. My ato probably runs for a good 8 hours a day total off and on I would guess (very wild guess). I am not sure how you would relate that to the jbj and its timers. The 3min 45 seconds timeout is to prevent the...

What kind of pump do folks use with their ATO

I use an aqualifter due to the fact they pump super slow and they are diaphragm based, so I can keep the ATO output tube submerged and not worry about backwards siphoning draining my tank.
