    Where is my calcium going?

Coraline will use up calcium as well

    Cannibal Chromis

Nope. Unless maybe some of your chromis were sick, died, and your fish ate a free meal or you have a predator hiding in your rocks you are un-aware of.

    is aiptasia really bad?

It will harm other corals it comes in contact with and will spread like bad gossip. Bad enough IMO.

    adding sand to estblished tank

Unless you are thinking about adding in 1 inch of rotten sand then you should be fine.

    Removing bio balls

Returnofsid, yes, I am aware that wet/dry's are considered nitrate factories. Not impossible to have a nitrate free tank having one though. Not very common these days, but possible if you are experienced enough.

    Removing bio balls

If ain't broke, why fix it? Any reason for wanting to change things? Replacing bio-balls with live rock would be pointless if you continue to use the wet/dry. Better to leave the established bio-balls in than to consider the change to live rock.

    Reasoning with nutrients and algae

Good husbandry is my route. If waste doesn't have a chance to sit and rott long enough in the tank to cause an issue then half your battle is won. That my theory atleast.

Mega-Powerful Nitrate and Phosphate Remover Replaces Skimmer, Refugium, Everything

I followed this thread on another forum where he was banned and even went so far as pm-ing members asking them to please reply to his thread to promote it. Boosting possible sales? Trying to prove himself right? Not sure...Not the judge.

    Floaties...

Could be from the sand. Either way, maybe run a micron filter or filter sock which should pick up anything in the water.

    filter decision

Bio-max will not offer you any denitrification, but will help with aerobic bacteria. I'd try and find some rock though. It doesn't have to be live rock. Base rock will become live rock in time.

    Brown Algae

New setup? Old setup? Typically a result of a tank not fully balanced yet or as herefishyfishy suggested, silicates in your water. Maybe test you make-up water to see if it is suitable for tank use. Ro/di is the preferred water to use where tap water is not up to standards.

    filter decision

And if you don't mind it, probably algae. There is no need for bio-max if you use live rock. Live rock will do alot more for you than bio-max could. Sponges are debateable on how helpful they are.

    filter decision

Live rock if it is biological filtration you are after.

They will like meaty foods. The local supermarket may sell frozen squid which is one thing they will usually readily take.

    Clams

I heard they like some nitrates as well.

    BBurrows13' 75g Bahamian Beauty

Eels are predatory fish so you can expect a bit more waste in the tank and a bit more work keeping the waste to a minimum. Also, remember to keep the tank covered as they will climb out. Where the rock is concerned, it must be nice to be able to collect your own. With that said, if you added...

What should be done to clean used equipment?

Warm water and vinegar usually does the trick for cleaning used equipment. Make sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards.
