How close is too close for drilling holes?

I meant an overflow as shown in Post #1 and Pic 2. With the bottom of the overflow attached to the glass that is drilled it takes a lot of stress off the holes and that pane of glass.

How close is too close for drilling holes?

Well rule of thumb is, You should be as far from the edge/top/side of the glass/hole as the size of the hole you are drilling. If you are drilling a 2" hole you should be 2" from the edge of the glass or another hole. As long as you are putting and overflow in the tank. you are taking the...

    SB, DSB or BB

I like the look of SB, I miss the critters that come with a SB. But LOW maintenance and less troubles that come with BB is probably the biggest reason I like BB the best. It literally takes me 20 mins to clean and change my water. once every 2 weeks I Just put a filter sock in my sump and vacuum...

    Closed-cell polyethylene or r-tech styrofoam?

Hello, Styro foam won't compress very much at all! On a tank that is 36"x24"X26" (100g) there is only .78lbs per square inch pressing downward on the foam. That is over 1000lbs sitting on top of it. Sytro foam is only really ment to help level the tank out, support the bottom and give some sort...
