    Reef Frontiers - thank you!

Welcome to RF :D Glad to have you about. On that note. I must ask that you take great caution when handleing worms in your tank. I am going to dig up a few links and photo's of the mistakes made by doing so. Some bristle worms look alike and some can cause serious pain. Also, you might want to...

    Ozonizer

I have had it at 55% for the past 2 months. I turned it up to 65% a month ago for about a week and it went up to 360-370. I got nervous and turned it down. I was worried I might hurt the tank. I just thought I would get a second opinion about turning it up again now that I trust my Controller.

    calibrating tds meter

Are you sure it is 800 calibration fluid? The meters I have for my customers were able to calibrate easily by turning the screw on the back or side of the meter. It goes up or down quickly wothout a problem.

    Nitrates high after cycling

Well, your cycle isn't done yet my friend. Sorry to be the barer of bad news. Depending on the rock a cycle can last more than 8 weeks. Your nitrates shouldn't be that high though. (I don't think anyway) I would get a new kit, Salifet or Seachem. Your test kit maybe bad. It is normal to have...

Member of the Month - July 2006

Cool thanks everyone. I was going to decline, as there is ALOT more deserving people on this site. I have been lacking in my participation lately. Largley do to my schedule. Also I don't think my tank is ready for such an honor. I accepted though. Mostly because, Does anyone ever feel that...

    Ozonizer

Hello, And thanks for the response. My Ozonizer is also plugged into my controller power bar. So I can turn both the Ozone producer and the air pump at the same time. Which I do, for saftey reasons. These are the readings I have gotten over the past week. It is irritating me to no end. With...

    Krish's "Rubik's cube"

WOW! that is a blue 12k! I run 12.5k on mine it doesn't even compare to that blue. Infact I can tell the diffrence between the 14k Pheonix and mine.

    mantis

Well loud clicking is a give away, but that could also be a pistol shrimp. Your best bet would be to look for snail shells and such lying around and try to find him when the lights go out. Someone with more experience may have better info for you though.

    Krish's "Rubik's cube"

Looks good my friend! Don't discount your bulb yet. It will go less blue as it breaks in a bit. Also it will look alot better when you get some stuff in there.

    COLT or NOT?

It's definately not a Colt Coral. Here is a pic of mine about 2 months ago.

    Krish's "Rubik's cube"

The key to no leaks on bulkheads, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THEM. Just get them hand tight and use a quarter turn with a wrench. If it leaks, another quarter turn, wash rinse repeat. If you flatten the gasket it will leak. The nut on the bulk head will follow the thread design and you will have a...

    Just starting

For your mushrooms, they are not light hungry. They like shadey spots in your tank. Any type of light will do. As for what kind of lights, you need to ask yourself what type of coral you want to keep. This may be a pain in the butt question for me to ask, but, the type of lights you need depend...

    Just starting

I keep mine at 1.026. My corals do really well at this level. I find they are open more. The biggest reason I have found for lower Salinity is, it help repell disease for your fish. Specially ich on Tangs and Angels. I did wait a few months until my fish were comfy and raised it slowly over 3...

    Overflow mod

I have 2 1" Durso's on my tank. 110g. I have 750gph return. I can only get a max of 1000gph through it. I may be doing something wrong. But I doubt it.
