    Depending on the setup, I have used a cheap plastic fixture from one of the big box stops and a CF grow light. The algae does not need any high tech lighting. Anything in the day light temp range is good.

    it just depends on how long you want to listen to the alarm of the ATO sound. The stronger the pump the shorter the time it will need to run.

    really, the Phosban reactor works well. drive it with a small pump like a Hydor Seltz 20 and you will be good to go. You then only have to test the water that exits the reactor to tell when the media needs to be replaced. I usually replace the media when I get a reading around 0.08 ppm.
