    Neptune Controller Questions

I don't know much about x-10 but I have the DC4 powerstrips I am using for my AQII. I like them alot. I think it helps cut down on some of the equipt. around the tank. I think w/ the JR.you can measure PH & temp so you will have these 2 probes going to your sump or you can have the ph probe...

That should be interesting... A recirc. Beckett. Or is it a Beckett. I heard they stopped producing the Beckett valves about the middle of last year.

    HOT skimmers

Sorry here is a link to the US importer http://www.captiveoceans.com/products-grotech.html. Mattseattle, that skimmer looks to be the HEA-150. You can download the Grotech catalog and it has a picture of the HEA-80. I don't think it is all that much more than a Aqua-C Remora.

Here's a link to a method I have used in the past http://www.petsforum.com/personal/trevor-jones/hyposalinity.html. I placed all fish in QT and had very good luck. Take Care, Chad

    o2manyfish - Skimmer Comparison

Does'nt the HEA-250 have the single Eheim-1260 for circulation? I wonder what they claim for air induction (l/ph)? I would imagine that would be a good indicator as to how comparible it is to the others. IMO I think the rating is a bit high. But I guess it all depends on what you plan on...

    Winter Coral Woes.... Anyone Else

I had a yellow samoansis do pretty much the same thing to me. It had been in my tank for about a year. I was just thinking how vibrant it looked a couple weeks before. The next week it started to not look right. I had just gotten a pink tipped Granulosa and was having some problems w/ red bugs...

    o2manyfish - Skimmer Comparison

Another thing I think should be paid attention to is how well they react to differences in surface tension. I guess that's what you might call it. You know how the oils from your hands can cause the foam head to collapse. I've noticed different skimmers can take longer to build foam back up...

    o2manyfish - Skimmer Comparison

Hi Madison & Dave, Thanks for all the hard work being done here. I am using a Grotech HEA-200 and was wondering if it would do better in another bracket. I'm not trying to say other brackets are any less competitive but if people were to take bets I think the BK & Deltec are probably the...

    PinPoint PH Monitor

Mine has done the same. Called American Marine and they said as Ketchupoy did. They can get interferrance from some Lighting ballasts. Take a water sample away from the ballasts and see if it still does it. Take Care,

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

I buy probably 90% of my livestock online and have used numerous vendors. I think we all need to be responsible for the animals we put in our tanks and quaranteen. I don't frequent alot of LFS so idon't know if they quaranteen. I would think if they did it would have to be a quit large set-up by...

    need fittings for Korallin reactor

The little orange miniature ball valves are made by a company called Gardenia. They make sprinklers and watering systems for gardening. I think these mini ball valve were originally made for a drip type watering system. I bet if you called some of the gardening stores you may be able to find...

    Custom Aquatic

I agree with Don, great service and friendly staff. These people DO NOT make you feel like you are a interuption. I have never felt rushed w/ them when inquiring about a product. I think that is important when we are spending the kind of money we can spend in this hobby. Later,

    A Plethra of Montiporas (Pictures)

Nice to see you on RF Playa. So many sweet Monti's it hard to pick a favorite. Just a warning to those that are not familiar w/ Playa's tank this thing is insane :D . and he seems to enjoy taking pics  . I used to subscribe to many of his threads on another board. Coral selection for his...

    golden pygmy angel

Thanks Terry, Maybe I should be looking at other fish. Tank is fairly small and if this fish like to hide maybe this enviroment might not be too homey for him and cause stress. I also like the powder blue tang but afraid this tank might be on the small side for one of these. Any thoughts on...

    golden pygmy angel

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the response. Will the Angel eat any kinds of Caulerpa? I just had some type of Calerpa spring from the rock work. The tank is about a year old and I have never introduced a macro algae to the main display nor have have I had this species of macro algae in the system. Not...

    golden pygmy angel

Hi Terry, Have you had any experience w/ the golden pygmy angels(centropyge aurantius). Would this be a good addition to a 58gal. reef mainly sps. We'd be rounding out the family w/ a mated pair of true percs and a springereye pseudochromis. Are they fairly hardy the system has been pretty...
